22/7 (ナナブンノニジュウニ Nanabun no Nijuuni) is a mixed-media 2D/3D idol group project, created by a partnership between Japanese record producer (of fame) and Sony Music Entertainment Japan (via its anime and music production company Aniplex, and its record label Sony Music Records). 22/7 is intended to be a project where real-life idol girls also bring life to virtual anime-style idols as their counterparts (i.e. they are known as "2.5D idols").

Timeline

2018

As of 2018, eight of the 11 members have become Virtual YouTubers, starting with Fujima Sakura.

2022

As of 2022, only Takigawa Miu has been active on YouTube although very rarely.

2024

As of 2024, It appears there are 10 active members of 22/7. They mainly appear as their real-life selves, instead of their virtual characters. However they will occasionally post on Showroom, 22/7's YouTube, and their personal or character X accounts (formerly Twitter). All of the original members' YouTube accounts are inactive despite some still being active members on the real-life side.

2026

As of 3 March, there are 15 active members of 22/7 among 3 generations, with the 3rd generation not yet having characters. They continue to mainly appear as their real-life selves, but they do use the characters for music videos, album art, and an annual character performance-based anniversary livestream.

Events

On 29 September 2018, Sakura, Reika, and Miyako did their first NicoNico livestream. On 26 December 2021, the group livestreamed 22/7 5TH BIRTHDAY LIVE 2021 ~Colors of Flowers~. On 24 December 2022, the group livestreamed 22/7 CHARACTER LIVE ~6TH BIRTHDAY PARTY 2022~. On 23 February 2026, the group held a concert to promote their character live, "22/7 Star Travelers", featuring the members performing their solo songs alongside their respective characters.
