Hexblades. A dangerous threat to everyday life. A spellcaster who utilizes magic for their own nefarious purposes, utilizing weaponry to channel it into dangerous and life threatening attacks.

To counter this growing threat the organization "Grenore Engineering" created defenses in the forms of shields, weapons and others. None of them worked. Magic was far too strong to the mortal man's firearm. However it was through the combined efforts of Levi Dawnmor and Naomi Caldwel to create the "Buster" series. An experimental line of weapons that combined modern technology with the unpredictable nature of magic. Eventually through years of progress Levi and Naomi, who married earlier during the experiments progress, created the answer to their problems:

The Rune Core. A mechanical creation capable of channeling magic through itself. The first and only of it's kind.

Inserting it into the 6th integration of the Buster Series which was nothing more than a black box with an purple "eye", the machine buzzed to life. At first not much happened. Basic responses when asked questions, expected parameters. The two left to consolidated how they could get it to function but heard a crashing noise from their experiment. Running back they found an arm made of junk around the office being wielded by this black box. Checking the diagnostics: It was unexplainable. It's code slowly being overwritten with cryptic runes and words unknown to man in digital form. Over time the box slowly formed more. It began to create another arm. Then legs. Then a body. It's black box like appearance was torn apart and remade by it's own hands. It was evolving, growing. Changing.

Levi and Naomi were ecstatic. Their life's work all brought to a head! It worked! Data showed that it was capable of high level spell casting and destroying "rune metal", a metal that Hexblades were made of, but the higher ups didn't share the same enthusiasm.

"It's a danger to us and everyone. Tear it down. We need weapons, not something that can become a weapon against us." The two argued as much as possible. It was they were looking for! How could they say such a thing!? Eventually, they came to a head. A limiter around the neck to prevent too much power from being used. Just enough for small casting like fireballs, missiles and shields. But even then, it showed new surprises every day. Punches infused with magic, learning from it's mistakes. Gaining sentience. And every now and then when he thinks no one is looking... Feeling the limiter around his neck.

With a knowledge of CQC, spell casting abilities, powerful and fast martial art skills, technological tools and knowledge while ever evolving; it's new self designation "Blade" spends his time dealing with the growing hexblade problem, defending those around the lands to finally push against the threat.
