Cala Marina is a fun-loving squid who enjoys spending time with her friends. Though she streams a variety of content, Cala is partial to horror games, art, and Beat Saber. She also loves the Grimace shake, and lotion. When she isn't trying to master the dark magic sealed within her amulet, she's often found working on her artwork. Cala is known for enjoying horror and occult content, while also enjoying things that are cute (though her definition of "cute" is subjective).

Cala sports tanned skin, and long, light-pink tentacles in place of hair, characterized by two tentacle "hair buns". Aside from her sharp golden eyes, one of her most noticeable traits is her deep, inky-blue mouth and tongue.

Cala's outfit bears a blend of aquatic and gothic motifs, and its most striking detail is its long skirt, within which is a layer of shimmering blue bioluminescence. Golden accents are spread evenly across her clothing in the form of trim and accessories. These trademark accessories include her ship anchor earrings, the oversized fishing hook protruding through her skirt, and the magic-infused amulet hanging from her choker.

Cala Marina first teased her design on 26 March 2023, beginning her streaming activities as a PNGTuber while she worked on the creation of her Live2D model.

• Cala has spoken very little of her life before VTubing. But from what she's hinted, she currently lives in an area beneath the Mariana Trench, in a place called the "Infernal Pools". ** Cala has not yet revealed the reasoning for her desire for world domination, but has mentioned vaguely that it is something of a "family tradition".
