The motherboard girl is known to have a loud, yet upbeat personality during her streams and collaborations. Her viewers know that she likes to play horror games such as Five Nights at Freddy's, Poppy Playtime, House, and the like. She also likes to do karaoke streams whenever a new milestone has been reached, or whenever her heart feels like it.
Debut
Cathy used to have purple eyes with sparkle highlights and simple purple hair. She wore a white sleeveless seifuku with dark purple collar and ribbon with the word "Cathy" written on the left side of her chest. She also wore a purple skirt with matching socks and sweatbands with white highlights, as well as light purple wedged sandals. She was able to change her appearance to other outfits. She would later add the cat headphones to the model in the future. The model was based on this illustration she posted on May 14, 2020. Other variations of this model have also been made throughout 2020.
Background
Cathy created her Twitch channel back in April 2019, but hasn't started streaming until 21 August 2020. She created her first Twitter account at April 2020 but only started as her personal art account where she would post her artworks. She created her (now deleted) VTuber Twitter account at December of the same year.

Motherboard Girl from 2134, created by CEVeloper. When CEVeloper stumbles upon information that it is possible to upload one's consciousness online, she decides to give it a try. Instead of uploading her consciousness on the internet, she chooses the safer option to upload it to her motherboard. Hence, Motherboard C4-310 is born.
January 2021
Cathy had dark brown eyes that transition to light purple, and purple hair neatly tied up with straight bangs. Her model style is similar to webtoon and manhwa art styles as she has spoken that she took inspiration from them. She is known to wear a white and dark purple hoodie, a light purple camisole, a pair of ripped jeans, pink socks and dark purple sneakers with high soles. This design was based on this artwork from October 5, 2020. However, Cathy is known to change her appearance depending on what type of game she is playing such as letting her hair down or wearing something else. Twitch chat also has the ability to alter Cathy's appearance from changing her hair and eye color to her clown mascot.
November 2021
Cathy had dark brown eyes that transition to light purple, and they were bigger than the previous model. She had her hair tied up with straight bangs, however she wore a dark purple bow with motherboard prints. She wore a dark purple hoodie, a white sports bra, a light purple pleated plaid open skirt with black shorts, white fishnet stockings, and she kept her iconic pink socks and dark purple sneakers with high soles. She also wore a metal arm band, dark purple fingerless gloves, and dark purple motherboard printed nails.
August 2023
After her re-debut, Cathy launched her new rebrand alongside her new 3D model with much similarities to her Live2D model. Her model style leans more into anime more than her previous manhwa-like art style. Her hair is lighter purple with blue streaks still being tied with the same dark purple bow. Her outfit is based on her Live2D model with a white bralette with purple accents, semi-transparent skirt, pink thigh highs and piano platform shoes. Her skin is detailed with circuit designs in neon green.
2020
On 13 April, Cathy started out as a Twitter artist where she posted her artworks. She also started opening commissions. By the end of the month, she created her first (alpha) model via the VRoid Mobile app, however, she didn't start streaming until August.
On 4 August, she created her first (beta) VRoid model on the desktop app, the same month and day her developer got her personal computer. The model can still be accessible in the VRoid website. She gradually started streaming at Twitch but never got to formally debut as a VStreamer.
On 24 August, she initially applied to be a Discord moderator at Pearl Orient Production, a Filipino VTuber company. Although, the company had known that Cathy had started streaming on Twitch and decided to let her in as their upcoming 2nd Generation ambassador. Pearl Orient Production decided to rename her as Murasakineko as her previous name conflicted with another VTuber who was under the company. This plan would later change to have Cathy debut under the 0th Generation instead of the 2nd Generation.
On 27 December, Pearl Orient Production announced the 0th Generation, The POPStars ⭐ on their official Twitter.
2021
On 29 January, Cathy revealed a new, updated design on her 3D model. The design took inspiration from manhwa art styles.
On 31 January, Cathy debuted her manhwa-style model on stream.
On 28 February, Pearl Orient Production created her YouTube channel. No videos were uploaded during the time when the channel was still around.
On 6 March, Cathy changed her Twitch name from "Cathy_Sumireneko" to "Cathy_Murasakineko"' in preparation of her redebut under Pearl Orient Production. This was advised by Pearl Orient Production's CEO, Yukirosagi, to avoid confusion with one of their members, Sumire Fuji.
On 8 March, Cathy redebuted on Twitch as Cathy Murasakineko.
On 10 March, Cathy celebrated her birthday by doing a live stream on Twitch.
On 1 April, Cathy did a collaboration stream to debut her clown model for April Fools.
On 5 April, Cathy resigned from Pearl Orient Production due to some conflicts that have happened in the past few months before, during, and after her redebut. She returned to being Cathy Sumireneko from thereon.
On 9 April, Cathy did a collab Among Us stream with fellow VTubers Alexa Ch, Teru Teru, Lisa Natsume, Coral Aquareine, Sen Sen, Nemu Kurosagi, Naya Torinko, Arisu Hagururma, and Akii JP.
On 11 April, the YouTube channel Pearl Orient Production created has been terminated. Cathy decided to create her own YouTube channel.
On 19 April, Cathy took a short hiatus to finish her personal works and commissions, and another one month hiatus from 8 May to 8 June to rest.
On 7 June, Cathy uploaded her first Twitch channel trailer and first YouTube video.

2023
On 3 August, Cathy posted on X an appreciation post for three years of being a VTuber. She would also add a goal to reveal her new model.
On 14 August, Cathy reached her goal and revealed her new 3D model in preparation for her redebut.
On 21 August, Cathy redebuted and rebranded in CircuitCathy and changed all her social media links.
On 31 December, Cathy uploaded an updated channel trailer on her Twitch and YouTube.
2024
On 9 March, Cathy went live to celebrate her 20th birthday a day earlier. She was emotional reading through the birthday messages she received from her friends. Cathy would later announce that she was leaving Saint Monarch, and taking an indefinite hiatus to focus on her studies.
On 10 March, Cathy clarified that she was not graduating from VTubing. This was due to misinterpretation from her previous group mistakenly using the term "graduating" incorrectly (the original X post has been removed).
2025
As of 2025, Cathy is primarily active on her X, posting 3D art and cosplay photos.
On 27 May, Cathy announced on her X that she will be voice acting Crazy Mita, Kind Mita, Cappie, and Short-Haired Mita in the Filipino dub of the game, MiSide.
Name
- Her original name was Cathy Sumireneko.
- Her old surname "Sumireneko" 「菫猫」means purple/violet cat in Japanese, sumire 「菫」meaning "purple/violet" and neko 「猫」meaning "cat." These are two words that describe her appearance.
- She was subsequently renamed to Cathy Murasakineko. Murasaki also means purple.
- During her 3rd anniversary on 21 August 2023, Cathy rebranded as CircuitCathy. Her reason behind this is due to how difficult it is to remember her old name.
- Her previous pen name, TheAuralArtist, comes from the connection of Cathy being music student who also does visual arts.
- Her name is Cathy because she likes cats.
