Umi's original YouTube channel was created on 21 June 2014, while her original Twitter/X account was created on May 2019. Before becoming a VTuber, she worked as an underground idol affiliated to WizArt between 2019 and 2025 and released her own original song albums.

On 1 October 2022, she began to stream on Mixch.tv, mostly karaoke and gaming streams. In some streams she represented herself with a PNG avatar.

Umi's VTuber Twitter/X account was created on October 2024, while her second YouTube channel was created on 7 December, 2024, the same day where she held her birthday concert.
