On the evening of 7 July 2024 she joined Reddit to post about independent VTuber Amiaryllis Bloo. Late that night, she acquired a 2D VTuber model created by Mui Muruki, and posted to Reddit asking for suggestions for names. User "iTwango" suggested "Shikuzu," meaning "raindrop," with "jukeboy25" further suggesting Dia Shizuku. She chose this name at random from several suggested in the thread. She also came up with the backstory of a snowflake changed into a human by magic.
Dia's YouTube account was created on 8 July 2024.
On 9 July 2024, she posted her first video on YouTube, a cover of "Aishite Aishite Aishite."
