About

FlaVR (pronounced "flavor") is an English-language indie VTuber circle founded in 2022, whose members are themed after various foods. The group originated as a parody of shady VTuber corporations, using AI art; as such, it retains a loose faux-corporate structure and most of its "talents" begin life as PNGTubers using AI-generated assets.

Origins

FlaVR was originally conceived by Pipkin Pippa of Phase-Connect as a fictional VTuber agency; of which she was the (corrupt) CEO. In a stream on 2022-11-12 she generated character designs using NovelAI, then assigned them backgrounds and personalities.

Immediately after the stream (and also DURING the stream) people started playing around with the characters, such as THE FIRST FlaVR-related Account being a guy who renamed his account to “I anti Rika Paprika”. Immediately after the stream, several accounts for the chuubas were made, mostly as a joke. Most of these early accounts were either men joining in on the joke or no post accounts, and survive as historical records of the early installment scuff.

It all changed, however, when Sena had her first minecraft stream. Still nervous about having an audience, using the PNG from Pippa’s stream and with such a low resolution that you physically cannot read chat, it was for most intents and purposes a pretty mediocre stream, but it opened the floodgates, as not only was an actual female streaming, but she fit the character design exceptionally well, being a DIYer, southerner, big booba’d, etc. Anons and other Pippa fans realized that the whole FlaVR concept had more weight than anticipated, so they started joining in...

2022
  • 12 November: Pipkin Pippa held a stream where she generated make-believe Vtubers for her make-believe vtuber corporation, FlaVR, using Novel AI.
  • 15 November: Pippa streamed her reacting to the small community that had developed around FlaVR.
  • 29 December: Pippa invited Sena Bonbon of FlaVR Fresh to a collab stream on her channel as her "daughter".
2023
  • 1 April: Sawa-sama/SourGrape joined FlaVR under her existing persona, becoming the first member of FlaVR Infusions (a pastiche of Phase Invaders).
