Lore

185 years ago, the world was rich with spiritual energy. Under the protection of the Azure Orchid God, Hakukuo's cultivation process was unlike the cabbage spirits who awakened during hot summers or moist springs. Instead, her journey was marked by cold and resilience. Absorbing the pure cold energy of the snow, she slowly grew, and eventually, on a snow-covered earth, she cultivated herself into sentience from an ordinary cabbage.

Moved by her perseverance, the Azure Orchid God named her "Hakukuo" and brought her into the divine realm to teach her how to wield the powers of spiritual energy.

One day, a catastrophic calamity befell the divine realm. The skies tore apart with deafening thunder, the heavens were shrouded in dark clouds, and balance in the heavenly world was utterly destroyed. Chaos and destruction swept through, throwing countless deities into turmoil. Realizing the inevitability of this disaster, the Azure Orchid God made a heartbreaking decision: to send his young disciples to the mortal realm, the only place where they might survive.

Hakukuo was one of those chosen to leave. On the fateful day, as snow continued to fall heavily, the freezing air seemed to mourn the downfall of the divine realm. Stripped of most of her spiritual energy, Hakukuo descended into the mortal world, where the other cabbage spirits, unable to adapt to the environment, perished one by one.

As her power waned, Hakukuo found herself unable to maintain her human form. Exhausted, she eventually transformed into a tiny seed, lying quietly in the snow.

A century passed. Covered by soil and stones, her seed blended into the world, forgotten by all. Her spiritual energy dwindled to nearly nothing, and it seemed as though her existence had faded entirely. For 100 years, she lay dormant, awaiting the day she might awaken.

Fate, however, has its own way of weaving miracles. One day, as humans became obsessed with collecting ornamental rocks, a peculiar woman named Anai joined the trend. While strolling, Anai came across a seemingly ordinary "rock." Though unremarkable in appearance, with a few cracks faintly glowing green, there was something about it that drew her in. Without hesitation, she picked it up and brought it home to care for it.

Over time, the stone began to emit a gentle green light, and its energy grew stronger.

One day, as Anai was tending to the stone as usual, it suddenly glowed brightly, vibrating intensely as if it had a life of its own. With a brilliant flash, the stone cracked open, and out sprang a figure—Hakukuo, who had once been a dormant seed.

Forced to accept this fantastical turn of events, Anai began an unusual and often hilariously chaotic life with Hakukuo.
