Hiroko was encouraged to become a VTuber by her "stupid grandkid". Her YouTube and Twitter/X accounts were created on 27 November 2022.
Hiroko debuted on 7 December 2022. She became the first member of the MetaGrandma Project, a VTuber unit created by Japanese media agency Otagroup.
Trivia
- In 2022, Hiroko's first great grandchild was born.
- Hiroko was initially introduced as 85 years old. However, in 2025 it was revealed that her real age was 84 at debut, and had been rounded up by about half a year for effect. This became confusing, so going forward she would use her real age.
