HysteriaV's personality was shaped by a life of overwhelming hardship, betrayal, and so on. Her fierce loyalty and "no bs" attitude uplifts and protects her community, and her openness allows her to have content that's a mix of light and whimsical to heavy and real. This may be a refreshing breath of air to the entertainment industry, but it also causes her to be more of a solo act than others. Due to the state of Vtubing as a whole in 2025, she refuses to call herself a "Vtuber", and opts instead for "2D woman". As said by Hysteria herself: "Things are toxic, and clearly you need to be toxic yourself to get anywhere. I refuse to be like that.".

Appearance

Hysteria is a purple-haired, blue-eyed cyberpunk themed oni with short horns, dressed in an elegant yet bold figure that keeps away from major oni themes, while keeping the historical color schemes.

Velvet is a red-haired, red-eyed vampire with short ears and fangs, but otherwise no traditional vampire motifs such as grey skin. Dressed in a simple shirt, jacket, and shorts, she flies in the face of vampire stereotypes in a "modern-day city punk" style.

Both appearances are carefully thought out to be a sort of "antithesis to normalcy", making them strikingly different than what might be expected of an oni or a vampire.

Background

HysteriaV (formerly Velvet Red) began her content creation journey on the 12th of March 2023, during which she had been counting pennies after losing her job, citing that she "had no more job prospects, despite placing applications, getting interviews..." and so on. As such, she had no choice but to approach content creation as her "Hail Mary"; which put pressure on her latest job as a content creator. And even as she went on to stream, she was still putting out other job applications trying to be "just a normal person". She places a great deal of emphasis on trying to mend her life with her own hands. As such, she draws people in places of hardship themselves, and brings them up alongside herself.

Her message as a 2D content creator is: "You can always come back from zero."

An abrupt ending to a life torn apart by hardship was given a second chance. She would return from death as a vampire and rename herself "Velvet Red" (under the understanding that the most famous anime characters are named after food), shooting for dreams she had back when she was alive as a human, such as having a life, or creating content.

But such a "what-if" scenario had its own caveats, and as such, the universe would ask "what if this wasn't the only outcome?". Thus, was Hysteria created - the cyberpunk oni version of street punk Velvet, renaming the brand HysteriaV (or Hysteria-Velvet).

Both timelines involve the same end goal: "be my own person; come back from zero." Hysteria (or Hysta for short) is the version of her that was desired, confident, hyper-attractive. Velvet is the version of her that keeps going in our current world to take what the world kept from her. A life.
