Joey Zero maintains a relaxed demeanour and occasionally exhibits mischievous behaviour, particularly during collaborative streams. However, beneath his laid-back exterior, he is deeply thoughtful and enjoys philosophy, often considering topics carefully. While he may not always appear visibly lost in thought on stream, his insights and reflections reveal a contemplative nature. His content varies from energetic and engaging sessions to calm, conversational streams, often with a creative activity to accompany it, such as building gunpla.

Joey enjoys engaging in creative projects both on and off stream. He possesses a knack for rapidly acquiring new skills and has expertise in various domains. "He is transparent about his processes, frequently sharing insights into his projects and methodologies, especially those related to streaming. For instance, he detailed the setup of his 3D music video 'Rules of Nature,' demonstrating how he integrated chat emojis into the performance. It is safe to say that Joey does have a good understanding of technology, and this probably contributes to his ability to explain things so concisely.

Joey Zero has black hair highlighted with shades of green and a single ahoge (アホ毛). The eyes are a rich golden-yellow with a gradient effect, but can also change colour to a near complete black, there is also a small black earring in each ear. He has three notable hairstyles: a headband, a hoodie, a mask, and a cat-boy cosplay look that includes a tail and ears matching his hair colour, as well as a headset. Joey can also be seen having sharp teeth, two at the bottom one at the top.

His jacket, or hoodie, alongside his shoes, has golden-yellow laces, similar to the eyes across the design, alongside tassels with the same colour. The jacket contains the Japanese text 文武の魂 (ぶんぶのたましい / Bunbu no Tamashii) on the left (Joey's right) and H-O in the golden-yellow on the right (Joey's left). If his hands aren't free, he can be seen either holding a controller, a coffee (often mistaken for Boba tea) or a mysterious white and grey cat. His shoes are black aside from the laces (and are not detachable from his body)

Joey Zero's streams tend to follow a glitchcore or antidesign aesthetic.

During the debut Joey Zero had his first music video (Rules of Nature) during the debut. The song was uploaded to Spotify on February 1, 2025

"Hibachi is hibachi, and that's where we are" -god Joey Zero's journey commences with his death and subsequent revival.

Following his demise, orchestrated by his chat, Joey finds himself in a hibachi restaurant conversing with 'god'. They have a short conversation regarding the concept of heaven (and hell), and who makes the 'choice' after death, and essentially the nature of this eternity. 'God' presents Joey with a choice: ascend to heaven, descend to hell, or return to life. Joey opts to remain unchanged, but return to a new life where he can directly address the problems of his previous life.

In his new life, Joey acquires a mech—revealed during his debut to be stolen through the installation of a 'Rogue Single Pilot Performance Optimisation System.' Inside the mech, he discovers a cat that he then adopts, interestingly Joey also cosplays a catboy.

• In the 1.0 VTUBER DEBUT, the 3D music video allowed chat to spam emotes, which would be directly integrated into the performance.
