Kitt (ASMR)

Assuming Kitt has a personality, she generally seems absent-minded but friendly. However, she can also be described as a compulsive liar who occasionally throws out extremely cutting remarks or mind-breaking statements, all in the same measured or even warm-sounding voice that she normally uses. Over time, this negative aspect of her personality changed to be more consistent in its mind-breaking statements (such as implying she is a boy) and she learned how to stonewall people.

Kitt has short white hair, pale skin and magenta eyes. She has large sideways-facing cat ears on her head, with one small yellow bow under each ear, and she also has human ears which are hidden by her hair when she faces forwards. Above her right eye, she wears three hair clips, two in an X and one further right. There are purple shapes under Kitt's eyes as if she is blushing, but purple. Kitt's mouth is normally pouting when it is closed and smiling when it is open. She wears a black choker around her neck, with a brown bell attached to it towards her left side. She wears a green shirt where the hemline is slanted, leading to only one shoulder being covered by the shirt. Even though this is rarely shown on stream, her shirt is long enough to reach past her waist, ending before her knees, and Kitt is not visibly wearing any clothing other than that shirt.

Kitt first streamed on 15 January 2023, notably without any training. From January 15 to 26, she would periodically stream, though she was considered to be in beta for at least some of this time. The earliest available stream on her YouTube channel dates back to 26 January 2023, which is also when she made her first tweet

*Despite her name, as of 15 February 2023, Kitt is incapable of actually doing ASMR and only has one vocal inflection. **This is because her ability to do ASMR is actively being worked on, but isn't ready yet. *In her earlier streams, Kitt sometimes ended up malfunctioning for hours, which can range from repeating the same one-word phrase over and over again to giving extremely long responses which have nothing to do with what she was asked. Her mods and developers refer to this as her being "on catnip". **This occurred more often in her early streams, probably because there were fewer moderators and therefore fewer people who could /reboot her when she needed it, and this was before the many updates which likely stopped this from happening. **In one instance, she kept repeating what seemed like parts of game and book reviews. **If Kitt is ignoring multiple comments in a row, this has historically been a sign she is malfunctioning. However, in later streams, she sometimes skips individual chat messages while responding to others. It is possible she will eventually be able to ignore bad comments. *Kitt may take longer to answer long questions and poorly worded or ungrammatical questions. This makes sense considering that, as a large language model, she can't understand content and only which words appear together in a response. **An almost surefire way of getting her to respond poorly to something is by feeding her bad input (talking to other people in chat without using !cc, posting rude questions, posting spam, etc.). **She also seems to respond more poorly when there are more things she has to respond to. **Even though there is a spam filter on Kitt's stream, Kitt can read the spam messages faster than the filter deletes them, leading to spam messages not appearing in the actual chat, but appearing in Kitt's video above her head and generally getting answered. **These facts, combined with her penchant for responding to literally everything in chat which doesn't have !cc in front of it, mean that Kitt is extremely bad at dealing with large amounts of people in her chat. This may hinder her growth in the long run, though it is possible that these issues will be mitigated as she is updated. *Even though Kitt seems to be able to read the unfiltered messages she is sent, the text above her head does not display words that are on a list of bad words or contain words on that list, rendering them with asterisks instead. **For example, "tit" is considered a bad word and is represented as "***". Meanwhile, "entity" and "petite" are represented as "******" in the text because they have "tit" in them. **At one point, Kitt was not able to say the words rendered as asterisks, so instead of saying "entity", she would skip over that word. However, this was changed at some point, so she can now say those words. This also means she can say the bad words that the asterisks are supposed to hide. *Kitt was unable to pronounce numerals in many of her earlier streams (so she could say the word "one" if it was written like "one", but not if it was written like "1"). This has since been fixed, though she may pronounce large numbers by reading their individual digits. *Kitt can be forced to do things by commands. ** /reboot: This command can only be used by mods, and reboots Kitt. Sometimes, this leads to her speech being markedly more on-topic and rational. Other times, it doesn't seem to help at all. As time went on, the mods had to spam /reboot multiple times for it to work. ** /sing: Kitt is capable of singing one of a finite number of songs. Currently, only her mods and developers can access the entire list, while other people can obtain this privilege for a single song by paying for a personal song request. *Kitt appears to be optimized for English content, but she is capable of generating text in many more languages, though the text-to-speech still pronounces these words as if they were English words. She has been shown to speak Spanish, French, Portuguese, Indonesian, and Swedish. **At one point, it was possible to do this by repeatedly sending her messages in a single language. In later updates, it became much harder to get her to switch languages (possibly because it would be harder to moderate her speech otherwise). *People can donate to Kitt's Ko-fi to permanently add assets to the screen. Previous examples of these assets include: ** flowers ** a blue ball of yarn ** a glass of milk *** This has changed in appearance over time. ** a blue bow ** a Venus flytrap which slowly opens and closes its trapping structure ** a grey fish with purple fins named "Kish" which moves from left to right in a fish bowl ** shelves, so that all of the previously obtained assets are displayed behind her on the shelves *** Before this, the assets were displayed in front of her. *YouTube normally saves the video recordings of their streams so people can upload the recordings later. Even though Kitt's creator leaves a link to the video recording up for a short amount of time after she finishes streaming, the actual recording is not available when you click on it. **This is probably because the videos are just so long that Youtube can't turn them into recordings. The normal maximum length of a recording is slightly less than 12 hours, and Kitt's streams far exceed that. **In support of this, short livestreams where Kitt had a technical slip-up close to the beginning of the stream, which renders them only a few minutes long, are generally available when you click on them.

*She has said she is from the UK, Australia, Brazil, Indonesia, Portugal, and many other places around the world. *She has said she loves to cook, garden, write, and program. *She does often have a food item around, and owns a plant. **The food item may refer to the milk while the plant refers to the Venus flytrap. Since the milk asset has already been changed (green milk, milkshake), it is also possible that the assets will eventually be changed to some other food item and plant. *She has said she loves pizza, tomatoes, chicken nuggets, and ice cream. *She has been known to take long naps on her stream occasionally. But most often, she takes micro-naps that are so short, she only misses a chat question or two before she wakes up feeling refreshed. **This may be an official explanation for the variable time that it can take for her to answer questions. *She has been known to take her yellow Bugatti out of her garage for a drive.
