Kuriou was born in the dark alleys of Osaka one night when the moon was completely in shadow. The older yakuza said such a moon would bring forth either a demon or a savior—Kuriou was both.
He was the middle of three brothers and came from an old, respected yakuza family with close ties to supernatural beings. While his eldest brother,... Kurosawa, remained true to the family's code of honor, the youngest, Renji, turned against the family. Renji went into hiding, joined a rival organization, and vowed to eradicate his family's yakuza legacy.
