Kuroshiro Nova

Nova's online presence started with the creation of her Twitter account on 30 December 2021, and she shared her character model. The account also started teasing her "partners."

Along with her retirement, Nova announced the debut of her successor. A duet cover with Nova and a mysterious figure releases on 25 April. Official teasing starts on 19 May, ten days before the debut. Nova's successor debuts on 29 May.

• The fanbase is called "Hypernovas" and are canonically dogs.
• On 9 May 2025, Nova drew a mascot illustration for Hypernovas, and would later draw custom versions called Hypersonas. The original Hypernova is a small dog, based on a mix of corgi and Siberian husky with gray and white fur, and fluffy tail and ears. It wears a small red scarf with a glowing star (Nova's emoji).
• While relatively small, the fanbase has demonstrated generous dedication with support, notably after Nova announced she might need to quit in May 2025, and during her send-off donothon in April 2026.
• Neva addresses them as "doggos."

• Nova didn't make a formal debut nor even announced her first stream.
• Nova was inspired to become a VTuber after watching HOLOSTARS and learning of their history. She admired their perseverance and loved watching their vibes of boys being boys together.
• Nova has a brother, first tentatively called Novabro, then later dubbed Brova. He had been a silent guest from time to time, to help Nova beat difficult sections in games (notably in the Remake of Resident Evil 4 where she couldn't deal with some enemies due to them triggering some mild entomophobia), and playing Minecraft together to beat Hardcore mode and the Wither. He was also the one to introduce Nova to VTubers. She has declared that in that sense, HOLOSTARS and Brova are the reason the Vtuber Kuroshiro Nova ever existed.
• One of Nova's most valued colleague and friend is Ra Hents who has been her music producer from the beginning, handling her instrumentals, mixing and mastering (especially early on until she learned to mix her covers herself). He's also been an occasional guest during live singing streams and gaming sessions.
• From the moment she announced her retirement and the subsequent debut of a successor who would take over her channel, Nova declared that she hated her successor's guts. This was reiterated in a lore video that released during Neva's debut. She however still left Neva in charge after deciding to retire and rest.

• Nova likes singing, dark chocolate, and deep and warm voices. She dislikes shrill and loud sounds, bell peppers, and crawling insects. * Nova has only disdain for Dreamworks' Madagascar movies and franchise, citing the lack of impact the movie had on actually promoting her country since many seemed to not make the connection between the actual island and what was shown in the movie. She even has a rule to not mention it on streams and in Discord. * Nova is a seiyuu (Japanese voice actors) enthusiast and is known to have tried and bought games simply because her favorite seiyuu Maeno Tomoaki voiced a character in them. ** Her favorite character of all times is (from ), voiced by Maeno Tomoaki who then became her favorite voice actor.

• Nova is also known to enthusiastically "collect boys for her harem" which means she simply likes to admire male characters and collect them in games.

• In her early days, Nova used to stream the game "Genshin Impact" a lot, and would release random gameplay videos following YouTube guru advices stating to upload for the sake of uploading at first. Among those, she made a twenty seconds YouTube short that amassed over 20,000 views. She later deleted it and almost all content related to Genshin, resenting the fact that a short that took her little effort was outdoing all the content she put so much care into, and resolved since then to always only upload content that meets her standards and would accurately represent Kuroshiro Nova.
• During a stream where she was to play rage inducing game and only say pleasant things as a donation goal, Nova's rage finally exploded while playing "Ironmouse and Bubi's Wicked Climb" and was made to turn a punishment wheel. This was added to her lore following said punishment: "Brova was supposed to debut as a twin Vtuber to Nova, but after remembering she had confused a male zebu with a female one giving birth to a calf, he decided against it."
• During a stream where she played "Solo" (a "Uno" like game on Board Game Arena) with her chat as a donation goal, Nova's rage exploded again after receiving eighteen cards. She decided to burn the Hypernovas who had backstabbed her, as she declared. This incident was even given a nod in a lore video that released during Neva's debut, where Nova cautioned her successor to burn the doggos if they were naughty.

• She came up with the nickname Neva because she thought Nebula would be a mouthful, especially since the fanbase was used to a short two syllables name.
• Unlike Nova, Neva has not declared she hated her predecessor. She however taunted Nova whenever she felt down, scoffed at the fact that Nova retired before letting her have the chance to be her proper antagonist, and makes jabs at Nova from time to time for different choices she would have made (such as not playing a horror game or choosing a certain game difficulty mode). She still wished for Nova to rest well in the end.
• Neva's debut was also the introduction of KamiNova, who is simultaneously the creator, upper management, and staff behind the scenes. They would sometimes speak through Neva, during which her sclera would turn black. Neva mentions KamiNova often during her streams, describing them as a slave driver and a tyrant before hastily retracting the remark before they "pull the plug" on her.

• Neva likes money and hot fictional men with hotter voices. She dislikes everything else.
• Neva inherited Nova's patriotism and inflamed disdain for Dreamworks' Madagascar movie, claiming Nova would be screaming in her head if she didn't talk about her country, and having crash outs and mercilessly timing out chatters who make jokes about the movie.

• Neva has declared during her debut, while introducing herself, that the original song "This hope won't die" was about her since she is Nova's twisted undying hope.
• Following Nova's advice, Neva often threatens to burn her fans if they aren't good doggos.
