Maytag

Maytag is a slim, youthful-looking virtual entity with long, brown hair, usually tied up into twin tails and a signature ahoge that gives her a touch of playful energy. Her eyes are a warm golden amber, expressive and often reflecting a curious or calm demeanor. She has fair skin and a consistently laid-back yet sharp appearance.

Her signature outfit includes an oversized, off-shoulder lime green top with black trim, often adorned with cyberpunk-style prints like a skull graphic and bold typography, including the phrase “ANTI-SOCIAL.” She pairs this with black thigh-high socks or leggings, adding to her edgy but comfortable streetwear style.

Maytag is rarely seen without her black tech goggles, which rest on her head like a permanent accessory, unless she's just woken up. She also wears black fingerless gloves, a staple in her daily look that complements her cyberpunk persona and hints at her hands-on, tech-savvy personality.

Maytag quietly entered the VTuber scene in October 2020, without any official debut stream, flashy countdown, or big announcement. There was no grand marketing plan, just a girl with a virtual face, a passion for games, and a drive to create something of her own. Maytag began streaming as a quiet personal challenge. She had always loved games but rarely found time to play them. Streaming was her way of making that time feel more productive, an excuse to finally enjoy what she loved while building something creative.

After some behind-the-scenes prep and experimentation, she hit "go live", stepping into the virtual world with a love for immersive storytelling. As someone with social difficulties and anxiety, going live wasn’t easy. Talking to an unseen audience felt intimidating at first, and it took time to find her voice. But slowly, stream by stream, Maytag began to grow more comfortable, and in that process, built a small, close-knit community that made the experience feel worthwhile.

From the beginning, she carved out a unique space in the streaming scene, balancing spooky thrills with introspective narratives and quirky indie gems. Her early streams showcased a diverse gaming palette, a mix of atmospheric, story-driven, and spooky games, including haunting titles like Phasmophobia, Maid of Sker, and Among the Sleep, where she often blended tension with her calm delivery. But she also explored gentler, artistic experiences such as Shady Part of Me, Muse Dash, and Little Nightmares, building a channel that embraced both atmosphere and emotion.

Over time, Maytag ventured further into story-driven and stylistic games, streaming titles like Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, A Hat in Time, Woolfe: The Red Hood Diaries, Vampyr, A Plague Tale: Innocence, and The Awesome Adventures of Captain Spirit. Her appreciation for narrative depth and world-building was very clear. She also explored more action-focused and cyberpunk-style experiences like Ghostrunner, Soulcalibur VI, and The Darkness II, reflecting her retro-futuristic aesthetic and lore.

Though she hoped to build her YouTube channel with tutorials and tech content, juggling full-time work and personal responsibilities made consistency a struggle. Eventually, after a year of streaming, she quietly stepped away in October 2021, as family matters and personal challenges took priority.

Over the next few years, Maytag entered a kind of hiatus. She still worked on art behind the scenes and tried multiple times to commission a 2D model for a redebut, but after being scammed by a few artists, the setbacks took a toll and delayed her plans further.

Still, her desire to create never faded.

In 2024, she decided to reconnect with her audience in a new way: through music. She released her debut album, This System is Broken, in October 2024, featuring 8 original tracks and 3 cover songs, that reflected her themes of identity and emotion. Over time, she created music videos for each song and launched a merch store featuring both VTuber-inspired art and album content.

By July 2025, she dropped two new singles across Spotify and other platforms, expanding her presence in the music world. Maytag dreams even bigger, with future plans for a comic book, an anime, and even a video game based on her universe.

Though she still feels it’s not quite time to return to streaming, she’s found new ways to stay creative, connect with fans, and share her story. And through it all, she remains deeply thankful to the people who have stuck with her.
