Mitsuri, who barely scraped through graduation with poor grades, has now secured a position as an intern researcher at a research institute called Sonnen. The institute specializes in storing, creating, and exporting dreams, offering healing and extraordinary experiences to modern people suffering from dreamlessness.
Though not particularly accomplished in experiments, Mitsuri is a master at cleaning test tubes and tasting coffee. In just one month, she's already secured key positions at the institute, including "Test Tube Cleaning Specialist", "Coffee Buyer", and "Head of Laboratory Cleaning." However, there's one major headache: the lab equipment Mitsuri handles keeps breaking down inexplicably. The number of repair requests correlates positively with the length of Mitsuri's internship and negatively with her salary.
Until one day—"2473rd item lost", Mitsuri pressed the confirmation button at the console, the crimson account balance on the holographic screen stinging her retinas. Suddenly, she caught a glimpse of a suspicious figure passing by the doorway, followed by a flyer that fluttered through the crack.
"Isn't there already a sign at the door saying no flyers? Why is there still..." Mitsuri picked it up and was about to crumple it up when she saw the words "Join us", "Solve your urgent needs", and "Conscientious company". The last signature was a few striking English letters—" VirtuaReal". Thinking of her increasingly distant contracts and internship salary that was not enough to cover her expenses, Mitsuri put the flyer in her pocket.
"It's not like I can't give it a try..." Mitsuri muttered softly.
