Female praying mantises devour the male after mating... Neither's story begins like that of a praying mantis.
An illicit union, a human man and a ghoul woman; the man, deeply in love, agreed to give his life for the baby in his wife's womb, accepting to be devoured by her.
Thanks to that sacrifice, a strong baby was born, with one eye as green... as emeralds and the other like a ghoul's... A half-and-half, that forbidden union had brought an ill-gotten creature into the world... The mother had to go out to provide, to bring food, but one day she simply didn't return. The last thing that baby had heard was a heart-wrenching cry in the distance... The cries of a small, abandoned creature brought an older woman to the aid of another, who immediately saw the child's true nature. However, her heart faltered; she couldn't kill him or turn him over to the authorities. She raised him, taught him to blend in, and never hid her past from him, nor what she had witnessed: a baby crying desperately from hunger, and outside that dilapidated house, a stain of dried blood spreading across the entrance. His mother had been murdered by that authority that called itself justice.
Neither grew up with a certain remorse, but he loved the woman who had raised him.
As he grew, his interest in music increased, and he began to learn on his own, saving his allowance until he could buy a guitar, which helped him expand the knowledge he had acquired through his own efforts.
He soon became a somewhat recognized artist, his long hair dyed blue and ash-gray, complemented by his green eyes... Meanwhile, a new threat appeared for some people, but not for everyone.
"Kitsune, estimated category SS," a ghoul who wore a fox mask with sharp fangs, covering half his face and leaving his mouth free to devour his victims.
But not all humans should fear him, for he only hunted agents who killed his own kind, other ghouls.
The old woman knew who that ghoul was; she was the only one who didn't seem to fear him, for every time she saw him, she couldn't help but look at the baby she had found and cared for with all her heart. Show more
