Neko can be described as a mix of pure chaos and coziness. Despite facing challenges related to being neurodivergent and managing mental health conditions, they show resilience and strength. They are deeply dedicated to their passions, whether in content creation or supporting their community, and they always strive to be there for the people they care about, even though they can get stressed somewhat easily.

Neko faces several mental health challenges, including generalized anxiety disorder, bipolar disorder, ADHD, social phobia, giftedness, and autism. Due to this, they doesn't leave the house much. However, Neko channels their energy into creative endeavors, like drawing and/or VTubing in live streams and videos as a way to connect with others, reduce feelings of impotence, and bring comfort to people.

At the same time, they are a chaotic warm-hearted joker, trying to make people laugh as a way to feel useful and overcome their struggles. Neko usually experiences anxiety attacks before starting streams, and shutdowns after ending them, but always trying to keep a good sense of humor, because they love what they do, after all.

Although their VTuber is an original character distinct from their real-life self, they primarily use it as an avatar to express themselves rather than portraying it as a completely separate character. Rather than roleplaying as the character, the model functions more as a visual representation of their personality and presence during streams and videos. The character’s lore and story elements are a way they found to express themselves creatively and are important to them, but they usually reserve that aspect for specific videos and projects, such as webcomics and animations, where the character’s personality is shown to be very similar to Neko’s. When interacting with their audience, even while using their VTuber model, they present themselves as their real self rather than acting as the character.

This is further reinforced by the fact that the character did not have a separate name until their redebut on June 3, 2026, when they were given the name "Konay", although all of their social media accounts and branding still use "NekoNayah", which itself comes from their real name, Neko Nayah. They have mentioned that, if they were to give the character a proper name today, it would likely be something like “Feeriny LaFey”, but the name “Nekonayah” has become so closely associated with them that they now feel somewhat uncomfortable giving the character a different name. Because of this, they instead use “Konay” (also derived from “Nekonayah”) as a name for the character in lore-related content and videos.

Their model is a small humanoid creature with a fae-like appearance inspired by nature. Their skin has a yellowish-green tone, covered in spots and markings resembling moss, lichen, or foliage. Their face features brown scales, along with large pointed ears, large expressive eyes with heterochromic pupils, a long blue tongue and short orange hair styled into two space buns. Resting atop their head is a yellow mask from which two long arms extend. These arms are fully functional and are controlled by Konay as though they were natural extensions of their own body.

Their most distinctive feature is a pair of large bat-like membranous wings. Short horns emerge from the top of their head, one of which is wrapped with a purple ribbon, further emphasizing their magical and wild appearance. Konay also has thicker fur on their chest and ankles, forming tufts reminiscent of dried leaves or moss. Their legs are unguligrade, ending in hooves and they have a long, slender tail decorated with two colorful beads, which ends in a cluster of feathers.

Their clothing is simple and handmade, consisting primarily of fabric strips and improvised accessories. A measuring tape belt wraps around their waist, decorated with a button, their fox plush named Rapousa, and a pin that can transform into a sewing needle.

Overall, the design combines elements of bats, deer, fairies, and nature spirits, creating a rustic and cozy aesthetic strongly associated with forests, craftsmanship, and the natural world. Like all members of the koya species, Konay does not have reproductive organs.

Thousands of years ago, the world existed in balance. Life and death were part of the same cycle, sustained by an energy known as Life Magic. Everything that was born received a portion of this energy, and everything that died returned it to the planet so that new life could emerge. This cycle was disrupted when humans learned to manipulate that energy. By altering Life Magic to suit their own interests, they created Altered Magic, which was used to power their technology, reshape the environment, and sustain an increasingly advanced civilization. Over time, they discovered that storing large amounts of this magic within their own bodies also slowed aging, leading them to consume more energy than the planet could naturally replenish. As resources began to run out, humanity created a new form of energy focused on destruction and absorption: Human Magic. Using it, they created artificial monsters designed to collect and store magic. The plan failed. Unable to control their own creations, humans unleashed a series of catastrophes that ultimately led to their extinction, leaving behind a devastated world.

Long afterward, only deserts, ruins, and the echoes of a vanished civilization remained.

Although humanity was gone, its effects persisted. Large amounts of Altered Magic remained scattered throughout the world. It was no longer Life Magic, yet it could not participate in the planet's natural cycle. It existed in an artificial state, unable to renew itself. The planet could still use the remaining Life Magic to sustain its own existence, but it had no means of reintegrating Altered Magic into the natural flow of the world. Without doing so, the planet's full recovery would be impossible. It was then that Konay appeared.

Konay was the first Koya ever created. An experiment—a desperate attempt by the planet to solve a problem it could not fix on its own. Formed from Altered Magic mixed with the last remnants of Life Magic, Konay was created to determine whether this energy could be returned to the cycle. For centuries, Konay wandered alone through an empty world. During that time, there were no other Koya. Only ruins, monsters, and the remnants of humanity. Eventually, the planet realized its creation was working. Whenever Konay used their abilities, small amounts of Altered Magic ceased to remain trapped and began flowing through the world once again. For the first time since humanity's collapse, the planet was able to recover a portion of what had been lost. Only then did other Koya begin to appear.

Like Konay, all Koya are created directly by the planet and come into existence already aware of their origins. They know they inherited a dying world and understand that their existence is tied to its recovery. No two Koya are alike. Their appearances, abilities (except for the ability to change their own size and the size of objects, a power shared by all Koya), and personalities vary greatly, reflecting different aspects of a planet attempting to rebuild itself. Because they are formed from condensed magic rather than conventional biological processes, Koya must consume minerals, stones, metals, and crystals to repair physical damage. Although they are initially ageless and immortal, they remain vulnerable to severe injuries and can die before fulfilling their purpose. The Altered Magic within their bodies grants them unique abilities. As long as this energy remains stored inside them, Koya do not age. A Koya who never used their abilities could, in theory, live forever. However, that choice comes with consequences.

The Altered Magic trapped within their bodies cannot return to the planet's cycle. The more Koya choose to preserve their own immortality, the less energy becomes available to support the emergence of new forms of life. Whenever they use their powers, a portion of that energy is returned to the world. Gradually, it ceases to exist as a stagnant resource and once again becomes part of the planet's natural flow. Every use of magic brings a Koya closer to mortality. As they continue to use their abilities, they become more fragile, more similar to ordinary living beings, and eventually die. When that happens, they return all the remaining energy they carry to the planet. It is this sacrifice that allows a new era to emerge.

The life returning to the world is not the same as the life that existed before humanity. It is born from a planet permanently transformed. New plants, animals, and ecosystems carry influences from both Life Magic and Altered Magic, giving rise to entirely new forms of life and a concept of nature unlike anything that existed in the past. In addition to returning Altered Magic to the cycle, Koya battle the monsters left behind by humanity. These creatures continue to absorb and hoard energy, preventing it from returning to the world. Defeating them is therefore not only a matter of survival, but also a way of protecting the lives that have yet to exist. The Koya understand that they will likely never live to see the future they are helping create. Even so, many dedicate their entire existence to protecting it. Today, after centuries of travel, Konay lives in an abandoned train nestled among the mountains. What began as a shelter eventually became their home. There, they care for the plants, animals, and life that is slowly returning to the region. They use the human technology left behind to play video games, take photographs, and travel aboard their home on rails.

Most of their magic has already been consumed, and they know their time is limited. Even so, they continue protecting their small corner of the world while watching the planet learn to bloom once again. Their unique ability allows them to use their own hair as threads of magic. By sewing objects, creatures, or structures, they can connect them to themselves and control them as extensions of their own body. Despite their age, Konay is neither a leader nor a ruler. They are simply someone who chose to protect what remains and believe that, even after the end of an entire civilization, life still deserves a second chance.

Soon, all that will remain of Konay will be Rapousa, their fox plush. They made it themself as a source of comfort during the long centuries they spent wandering a lonely and empty world.
