Pomp is an artist and enjoys drawing, but finds it hard to talk when there are no topics at hand. Hence, Pomp usually does not talk during drawing streams. Pomp is passionate about many things and is quick to express support for them.

Pomp has completely pale white skin and purple eyes. Pomp has purple-black short bob hair with a yellow inner color, and a hairclip in the shape of a round fish. Pomp wears an open serafuku-like white jacket with purple and yellow stripes over a grey shirt and dark miniskirt. Several sticky notes are scattered on the jacket. Pomp wears knee-high socks with white stripes and loafers.

Prior to becoming a VTuber, Pompmaker1 was an artist active on Reddit, Pixiv and Twitter, also doing occasional silent drawing streams on YouTube. On 16 Feb 2021, Pompmaker1 posted the design of his avatar for the first time on Reddit. In April 2021, Pompmaker1 posted several videos of himself developing and rigging his avatar on his existing Youtube channel. Pompmaker1's voice and gender were revealed with a voice reveal video on 4 May 2021.

Pomp used the avatar in several livestreams before having an official debut on 7 Jun 2021.

After his debut stream, Pomp decided that his fans would be named "pompchamps".

• Pomp is Singaporean. * Pomp learnt Live2D for the purpose of rigging his avatar, and did so with the free trial version. ** Pomp has stated that he cannot add features to his avatar due to his free trial of Live2D expiring and his reluctance to buy the full version. * Pomp has a complex regarding their voice and considers it disgusting. * Pomp's main interests are Vocaloid, hololive and Touhou. ** Pomp's favorite hololive member is Korone. * Pomp's favorite English musician is "Weird Al" Yankovic, and he has stated that if he were to do a karaoke stream, he would sing the Weird Al parodies of songs wherever possible. * Pomp wears glasses in reality, which has led to the face capture software making his avatar blink erratically. Pomp has presented an alternate explanation; that he is actually a lizard who blinks one eye at a time and the face capture is merely reflecting his true self. * Pomp is fluent only in English, but has some experience speaking Mandarin and knows trace amounts of Japanese. ** Despite being Singaporean, Pomp does not use Singlish. * Pomp cannot eat vegetables and most fruits, and will vomit when he tries to. * Pomp is "a guy who's a VTuber for fun" and would not attempt collaborations with people who are serious about being VTubers. * Pomp plays a custom playlist of meme music, mashups and otoMADs during drawing streams.
