Ranchu Kotobuki is a goldfish girl VTuber who does a variety of content such as games, singing and free talk. One day during a summer festival, she transformed into her human form.
2021
On 21 May, at 9PM JST, Ranchu held her debut livestream.
2022
On 3 March, Ranchu celebrated her birthday in 3D and announced an upcoming new outfit.

On 28 January, Ranchu applied for jig.jp's VTuber Touryumon public audition program as its 15th applicant, receiving an overall evaluation of 🪭🪭 (2 out of 5: did not pass) from the judges. Had she passed, she would have been allowed to join their "VTuber Touryumon BOX" agency.
On 21 May, she celebrated her 4th anniversary and debuted a new outfit. The design is pro-wrestling themed, featuring a crown on her head, a black eyepatch and most notably, a championship belt on her waist, while holding a black flag with the words "Kotobuki Teikoku" (寿希帝国, Kotobuki Empire).
In September, she joined the TikTok-focused VTuber agency Soyokaze, with her re-debut stream on TikTok scheduled for 12 September.
On 14 November, she received an "Exemplary Maid" award from the agency for her performance in their "Soyokaze Maid Week" event, where she came in 2nd place with 250,193 maid points, ahead of Susuki Rei at 128,144 points and behind Sasuga Yana at 326,839 points.
2026
On 11 January, Soyokaze announced Ranchu's departure from the agency. She confirms the announcement, and expressed regret that she wasn't able to hold an agency graduation stream, continuing as an independent VTuber afterward.
On 3 March, she signed up to become an affiliate of RIOT MUSIC's RIONECTION production support group. She has not joined RIOT MUSIC or become a corporate VTuber with this, as RIONECTION is not an agency.

- She is a goldfish girl. * Her birthday on 3 March is known as "Goldfish Day" (金魚の日) in Japan. * Ranchu (らんちぅ) is not a normal Japanese name, and also not her family name given that it is written in hiragana (Japanese family names are always written in kanji). It is a reference to the goldfish variety. * It's unclear whether Kotobuki (寿希) is her family name. ** Her full name Ranchu Kotobuki (らんちぅ寿希) is written in a way that suggests it is a stage name (it's not in the traditional East Asian family name-first name order).
