Rina's isn't good at conveying her emotions through her face, so she requires the help of the "Rina-chan Board" — a sketchbook that she draws facial expressions on, and the "Auto Emotion Convert Rina-chan Board", a gadget she made herself that she's seen wearing on stage and in her videos which shows her knack for technology and creating things.

Despite her inability to express emotions well, she's actually a really bubbly person especially when with friends and when performing in front of people.

She has pink hair with an ahoge and black cat eared headphones with a fake digital screen covering her face. She has a sailor uniform top with black collar and hot pink ribbon.

On 26 December 2022, the official Love Live staff Twitter announced that Rina would become a VTuber "on behalf of the IT Utilization Team" with uploads scheduled to premiere on 27 December, 30 December, and 2 January.

On 27 December 2022, Rina's first video premiered on the official Love Live YouTube channel.

• Similar to her anime and video game counterparts, she is voiced by Tanaka Chiemi.
• Despite the Love Live! Virtual School Idols being announced first earlier in the year, Rina is the first from the Love Live! Series to debut as a Virtual YouTuber.
• Similar to earlier Virtual YouTubers, her videos are in a pre-recorder/video upload format as opposed to the more common livestreams.
