Uchiumi Nia

Nia has a penchant for yapping and creates a cozy atmosphere. While chatting with people, she always makes it clear whenever she doesn't know something, but is also curious and eager to learn more. This is often shown on stream as she asks chatters about their countries' cultures, experiences, or other topics she is curious about. She sometimes takes this to the next level by virtually locking up first-time chatters and interrogating them for information.

During her many yapping sessions, Nia is often very open about her thoughts and feelings. Referencing her status as a semi-anonymous individual on the internet, Nia believes she owes it to her circumstances to be open about her thoughts and feelings, regardless of how weird they may be. She is often openly talking and introspecting about a variety of topics, ranging from serious and heavy to lighthearted and random.

Many of Nia's other characteristics are similar to those of a real cat. Nia is perpetually sleepy, moves quietly, and tends to slip away from groups of people without notice. Like a cat, she also has a more mischievous side. She enjoys being a minor annoyance to those she cares about and is known to playfully annoy them into doing what she wants, only to stop caring once they start paying attention.

Besides yapping, Nia often plays games on stream. She likes to challenge herself, for example, by doing soul-level 1 runs for Dark Souls 1 and 2. Whether it is 16 hours to beat Manus in Dark Souls on soul level 1, or playing rage games like "The Game of Sisyphus", Nia never gives up and continues without becoming enraged regardless of how long it takes.

Nia has waist-length hair transitioning from a light cyan color at the tips to a light grey. She has braids in front of her shoulders, as well as two tails and cat ears. Notably, she does not have human ears. At present, it is still unknown whether she has cat-paws or human feet, despite her regular shoes and hands.

Nia's tech-wear clothing style is heavily inspired by Arknights characters, with a dark grey jacket with light blue lining and cuffs, baggy pockets, as well as puffy sleeves with white and black straps. The jacket hangs off her arms over her white buttoned shirt with a black ribbon, belts, and an ID tag. She wears a 3 layered skirt with a grey outer layer, a cyan skirt, and another grey inner layer.

Occasionally, Nia will also take out a blue whale shark plushie to hold in her arms.

Nia is a marine life researcher stationed underwater in the middle of the sea. As a result of her occupation, she became isolated from other people and the rest of the world, and thus decided to pick up streaming.

• Music: Nia likes VOCALOID music. Especially noteworthy is Siinamota (椎名もた), Nia's favorite VOCALOID producer. The music he made resonated deeply with her at an emotional level, and it is the reason she started writing her own personal poetry, as well as the reason she started streaming. Similar to how Shiinamota's music was profoundly meaningful to her, Nia wishes for her time as a streamer to serve others similarly. For it to be a lasting legacy that is distinctly memorable, meaningful, and inspirational to others, even after she is gone.
• Anime: While she mentioned not watching a lot of anime in recent times, some of Nia's favorite anime include Mushishi, Made in Abyss, steins gate, and A Silent Voice.
• Manga: Nia's favorite manga genre is yuri.
• Games: Nia likes a large variety of games. Particularly noteworthy are Dark Souls and Monster Hunter, which make up the majority of her streaming content. Some other examples are Yumme Nikki, Blinx the Timesweeper, and Golden Sun.
• Appearance & Character design: Nia likes tech-wear, Gothic Lolita, maid outfits, blue hair, and tails.
• Food: Nia's favorite food is curry rice. She also likes the Bojangles fast food chain, and eating certain fruits in the shower
• Nia does not like small spaces and has claustrophobic tendencies. It has been mentioned that this is potentially related to an experience she had when she was younger, where she got stuck in a box.
• Similarly, Nia has a fear of heights. Nia mentioned this might be related to an almost-accident at the Grand Canyon.
• Nia dislikes the WebP image encoder on a technical level.

• Nia is almost always sleepy and yawns a lot. Sometimes, seeing herself yawn on screen may cause her to yawn again, starting a spiral of yawns that can persist for extended periods of time. This resulted in a yawn counter command being added.
• Nia "temporarily" changed her Twitch handle to the Japanese writing, unaware she would not be able to change it back immediately. This caused her name to be stuck as 内海ニア as opposed to Uchiumi Nia.
• Nia occasionally loudly cracks her bones on stream, causing mixed enjoyment and discomfort within her community.
• While playing Monster Hunter Rise on stream, Nia missed the final hit on the True Charged Slash attack combo so often, her community started playfully bullying her for it. This eventually resulted in a missed TCS counter command being added.
• When Nia was still using her PNG avatar, Nia's setup caused her PNG to occasionally switch to that of a sock puppet. This resulted in memes, fanart, and chatters theorizing that her true identity was a sock puppet.
• While playing Team Fortress, an anonymous player tried getting around automatic censorship by calling Nia a "homosoxs", allegedly an attempted insult. This moment stuck with Nia, and the screenshot later became the source of an emote.
• Nia likes to draw out reactions from people by using unshortened versions of commonly abbreviated words or names. Especially noteworthy is her tendency to use "chatroom" as opposed to "chat"
• During early Monster Hunter Rise streams, Nia selected "Hardcore and Girl" as her guildcard title, which ended up being the name of the community discord as well. After realizing it could be shortened to "HaG", Nia was often called a HaG, whereas "Haglets" started being used occasionally as an unofficial fan name.
• When she was still only using her PNG avatar, Nia added emotes through the 7TV extension. The community quickly took a liking to "Joel", a spinning 3d model of a fish. Without a particular reason, the community religiously adopted the emote and started collectively using Joel at various moments during streams.
• Nia *always* first tries any boss she fights, even if it takes multiple attempts.
• Nia is the world record holder for a niche Dark Souls 1 speedrun category, called Yuri%.
• Nia doesn't sharpen her knives and once mentioned having a hard time cutting through carrots. As a result, her community often jokes about her dull knives, eventually leading to Nia considering a knife sharpening stream in the future.
• Nia would often give chat text-to-speech after she came back from her break with food, however when she finished her food and started the 2nd segment of stream and disabled text-to-speech, chat would often say that she removed their vocal cords, resulting in a joke that Nia likes to silence chat.
