On 28 February 2022, the Love Live official YouTube announced a group of unnamed Virtual School Idols. The project was set to feature "all-media development", mainly video distributions by members and casts, magazines, CD releases, smartphone applications, and live events.
On 16 October, their official twitter account alongside their group name and additional information regarding their activities was announced. The application release was set on April 2023.
