AniLive was a English-language mobile virtual streaming app by former CEO of PRISM Project Captain that enables VTubers to stream anytime, anywhere without needing a high-end PC or complex VTubing setup. AniLive wants to make streaming more accessible for aspiring virtual streamers, and to create mutual understandings beyond boundaries. Initially, the app released for iOS devices only and in a TestFlight beta testing state. The app has since released onto Android devices, however without the option to stream due to the systems limits on face tracking technology.

Transition Period

On 17 December 2024, AniLive announced that it would go through a transition period starting on 1 February 2025. Users would no longer be able to install the app after this date. AniLive has not revealed when they would come back.

On 1 February 2025, AniLive began its transition period. Streamers and viewers active on the app at this time were met with a new landing page with AniLive's mascots and a notification about AniLive's hiatus.

Since then, nothing has came out of the transition period, as their last tweet was on 3 March 2025, showcasing their ad trucks in New York City. Their web page has also been locked behind a username/password system, and that the developers behind the app, Anotherball, has not mentioned them in their portfolio on their website.

Wave 4

According to a comment made by Renji Sukebo, "Rose Barkley" went MIA, and has been recast into Waname Wanayumi.

Wave 8: Scribble Squad

Notably, these members all had stick figure profile icons presumably drawn by the same individual before model reveal. While Lady Ichigo also had a stick figure icon, she debuted in her respective wave and is seen as an honorary member. The wave was named "Stickfigure Squad" originally, but got renamed to "Scribble Squad" later.

Wave 7

Following allegations of AniLive using AI-generated model art for Volume 2, Wave 7 represented a step away from premade models, instead working with talents to commission custom avatars.

Trivia

Prior to becoming AniLive's mascot, Ailis was also the mascot of IZUMO, another project done by Captain.
