Aria was previously a fresh recruit who got into the Mecha Strike Team to be close with her close friend who is almost like a sister to her. After her friend sacrifices herself to save Aria in an expedition, after experiencing that trauma she quits the MST and is called back months later with the promise of a promotion, not wanting her friend's sacrifice to go to waste she accepts it.
