Dooby is a, a type of hopping desert mouse, transformed into a humanoid form after being struck by a shooting star.

She has green eyes and short blonde hair, with a black "ahoge", and a long thin jerboa tail. She wears a train conductor's uniform with a short-sleeved white shirt, dark blue short-legged pinstripe dungarees accessorized with a small golden star, a matching dark blue cap and and a green neckerchief. She also wears a pair of goggles and white gloves with black and white checkered cuffs. A steam whistle hair accessory puffs out steam when she talks loudly or hiccups.

Dooby's YouTube account was originally created on 23 November 2010. Her Twitch account was created on 20 February 2014. Before becoming a VTuber, she streamed on Twitch between 7 December 2016 and 3 September 2020, with only three sporadic streams in 2022 and 2023. Content appeared her YouTube channel between 23 May 2019 and 1 June 2020, mostly depicting early Twitch streaming content which is no longer available.

Her Twitter account was created on 24 February 2023, with her earliest tweet dated 26 July 2024. Early Twitter content included an unarchived karaoke stream and progress reports on her streaming setup, which included a two-PC setup for game streaming, a mocap setup, and Restream, a system for streaming simultaneously to multiple sites at once, such as Twitch and YouTube.

Dooby's debut stream took place on YouTube and Twitch on 25 October 2024 at 5PM PT. It reached over 47,000 YouTube viewers at peak, and 12,400 Twitch viewers. Following a disconnection due to an error, a second continuation stream peaked at over 20,000 viewers on Twitch due to a raid by Filian.

Shortly prior to the debut stream, Dooby reached 100,000 YouTube subscribers.

• Her Twitch subscribers are called the "roingus club," and her Discord is called "club roingus."
• "Roingus" is a reference to an internet nickname for the jerboa, from a 2021 gif titled "roingus eatig??/"
• The Discord was renamed to "club poineus" in July 2025 after event organizers named a cocktail for Dooby. A Club Poineus is a non-alcoholic drink made with blueberry red bull, sprite, and lime. It's probably a typo of "club roingus."
• Her jerboa mascot character is named Jeeb.
• She also has a kappa mascot named Kippu.
