Once a scholar of horror, the Dreadist spent his existence wandering the darkness, researching the very nature of fear. He collected all of his findings and knowledge in his home, in a realm between worlds--the shop of all horrors and dread. That is, until a fateful day when he got lost in the twisting ways of madness and fell trapped in a nightmare.
Awoken from a decade-long slumber, the Dreadist finds himself in the decrepit ruins of his home. His body, his memories, torn by the years of torment. Even his once great powers are weak, and without them, he can not take his true form nor return to the mortal world. He is trapped in his shop, with no way out.
But much has changed since the old days of the past. People have built an entire digital world, just waiting to be explored. Settling on a temporary human form, the Dreadist sets out to discover this new, modern age. To make his name known as a scholar of horror and, in the process, regain his faded powers. He has his work cut out, but fear has no grip on him.
The journey is just beginning…
