Lore

The wind over Narikikou does not merely blow—it listens. It threads through silver-leafed forests and across cathedral spires of pale stone, carrying with it the murmured vows of kings, the last breaths of warriors, and the laughter of children who do not yet know how fragile the world can be. The mountains hum at dusk. The seas answer at dawn. All things in that realm exist in quiet anticipation, as though the world itself waits for a single, perfect note.

For Narikikou is a land where power is not taken. It is answered. Resonators are not forged, trained, nor named by prophecy. They live entire lives unaware of what sleeps within them. A baker’s son. A wandering minstrel. A fox-eared girl with too-bright laughter. Any soul may carry the hidden chord. It awakens only at the brink. When death stands close enough to cast its shadow.
When danger tears the sky open.
Or when an spirit—an Aspect of wind, flame, tide, dusk, memory, or storm—turns its immeasurable will upon a single mortal spirit and chooses.

In that suspended heartbeat between ending and survival, something answers something greater. The soul does not shatter. It harmonizes. Mortal essence and eternal Aspect entwine, not as master and servant, but as echo and voice. And in that union, resonance is born.

Nari had not known she carried such a chord.

She had been, until that moment, simply herself—a Catgirl with tranquil blue eyes. Nari, as people would call her. Airheaded and irrepressibly bright, she moved through life as though it were a festival waiting to happen. She sought friendship with open hands and defended it with startling ferocity. She adored sweets, collected melodies the way others collected coins, and sang without shame or hesitation. Games delighted her. Stories enthralled her. she knew that the world was something to explore, not fear.

Then the wind chose.

When peril closed in around her and her breath grew thin, at the very last moment before her breath vanishes. The Celestial Body, Lua, cast its regard upon her fragile, defiant spirit—and found it worthy. In that instant, her blue eyes burned brighter, no longer mere color but covenant. The air stilled, then surged, letting out a deafening howl, answering a call she had not known she was making.

She survived.

But she did not remain unchanged. Her Eyes are different, while the other held a deep-sea hue, the other donned an amber glow, similar to what you’d see in liquid gold.

Now, when a sword sings from her grasp, the wind sharpens its edge. When she draws a bow, unseen winds guide the arrow’s flight. Magic moves through her not as a foreign force, but as breath, restless, alive, impossible to cage. She fights with fluid unpredictability, as shifting as a summer gale and as sudden as a storm breaking clear skies.

Yet Lunaria remains herself. She laughs too loudly. She trusts too easily. She sings to quiet rooms and shares her passions with unguarded joy. The resonance did not hollow her, it deepened her, like a harmony laid beneath an already beautiful melody.

In this new realm, where the winds speak in unfamiliar tongues, she turns to Tarot, to steady her spirit. Each draw is a meditation, a way to align her mortal will with the vastness that hums beyond sight. The cards do not grant her power; they help her listen to it.

She does not remember the precise instant of choosing. Few Resonators do. The memory lingers only as a sensation, a falling, a rising, a note sustained beyond the limits of breath.

But when the air grows heavy before a storm, when silence presses too close, her amber eye gleams.

And somewhere far above the turning world, the wind answers its echo
