Nanasu Anone

She wears an elaborate velvet dress adorned with golden threads, paired with a big witch's hat she inherited from her master. The inner side of the fabric appears to have a starry illusion of the galaxy. With her long black hair and crimson eyes, she appears mysterious and magical despite her true nature quite says otherwise. There is a consistent butterfly motif with her character design, sporting butterfly-shaped pupils and her back tattoo.

As described on her lore, she appears to be very caring and thoughtful of other people in her hometown while being sly and cunning about her being not actually born with magic. In the same way she is helping those in need, they are tricked and absolutely fooled into thinking she is an actual witch like her master. Despite all this, she proved to be a person with good heart at the end of her tale in her home-world by saving a villager from a soldier's arrow to her heart which "ended" her life.

Stumbling into our world, she finds herself alone and helpless but she strives to survive by doing various odd jobs to earn our currency. She had a series of questionable side jobs before becoming a VTuber. As a peculiar entertainer, she does her new "job" very well.

Her fans, or the Nanadachis and Nakadachis rather, describe her as a really kind person who is really good with interacting with people, be it chat or with other people in a collaboration. She isn't scared of saying what is in her mind most of the times, making her speak thoughts with almost no filter. Furthermore, she really cares for her Nanadachis and friends, similarly to her written lore. Her moderators see her as a highly respected person along with other people. Even though, she does plays this off by playfully interacting with those people and moderators; Deep down she is a caring, considerate, kind and respectful person.

Before her official debut, she had a series of pre-debut streams using a Live2D Marin Kitagawa model by Kvxart, which modified to match her color scheme. It was no longer used after her debut, featuring her official Live2D Model.

Nanasu Anone made her official debuted on 7 May 2022 8:00 PM GMT+8 on her Twitch channel. Her debut peaked with ~300 viewers. Shortly after the starting screen, "JABOL" was played as an opening song number and followed by several live covers. Her debut presentation features all artists who worked together with her, along with a showcase of all emotes, assets, and fan artworks posted under #BewitchedArt Twitter tag prior to her debut.

• Originally from a world you’d find in fairy tales, she was regarded as a great witch among her people whom she had eagerly helped. Secretly, she is only ordinary person as the rest. Eventually, a witch hunt decree was established which forced her to leave her beloved town with great help. Unfortunately, the chase ended to her “demise” as she took an arrow to her heart to save another, her tale “ending” in a grand sacrifice.
• Finding herself into this strange place by a miracle, unscathed and confused. After many embarrassing struggles (recorded), she eventually found companions that gave her equipment left behind by a certain someone, allowing her to become a “VTuber.”

Let me tell you a story of a certain witch from a long, long time ago… Dressed in velvet robes lined with golden thread along with her hat adorned with silk ribbon, she certainly looked the part. In the mystical forest, people in need delve into it to find the witch’s cabin. There, she waits for them to cure them of their woes. Greatly praised for always having the solution needed, she was no secret in the nearby town. Little did they know that the famed witch is no witch at all.

Born without magic, she grew in care of one. An orphan finding warmth in a home full of potions, artifacts and the sound of a bubbling cauldron. Soon, she takes after her master’s duty with the goal of using her knowledge to help others in need.

Her idyllic life continued as something out of a fairytale. But as all things come to an end, this story will come to an end as well. The witch hunt decree has been ordered throughout the land, fastly approaching, the light of raging fires from the burning stakes can be seen from afar.

Those she had helped have tried to save her from the pursuers, running away with people looking out and protecting her. They volunteered to help her cross the bridge to leave the border. As they flee, these thoughts run through her head as she tries to catch her breath.

“I was born without magic. I am but an ordinary person like the rest of these people… So why… Why must I run away?”

To their surprise, the end of the bridge was already flocked with troops. Cornered, the townspeople desperately shielded the witch as all hope for an escape was lost. Despite their protests, one of the soldiers drew their bow and just as that the girl knew the answer.

Shoving the villager away from the arrow’s path, she stood bravely and had her heart shot. As they shouted and cried why, she simply smiled proudly.

“Why? Because I am the great Witch, Nanasu Anone!”

As the forest seemed to wake from her grandest exclamation, the loud flock of birds emerged, making the pursuers distracted and look away, and for the very moment, the dying witch staggered and tried to give comfort one last time as she descended and fell into the lake bathed in moonlight.

The story of the witch was told to end with this noble sacrifice, but I would like to say otherwise only for you. I say that maybe, that charlatan witch was truly one after all. From the dark depths, the witch regained consciousness and swam back to the water’s surface.

Much to her surprise, the arrow was no longer in her chest, nor have any signs of scar from it. Her bewilderment made her not notice the unfamiliar landscape around her, and when she did, she was greeted by tall towers and it was as if all the stars in the twilight sky came down to earth to give her the grandest welcome.

As the master’s familiar, my mere magic can only look this far from here. I believe that the witch’s story goes on and this is our secret to share. Now, only you, who watches over her and this new unknown journey, will know the rest.

With that being said, that talking axolotl doesn't seem to have any idea what comes after. I've pretty much done my job recording this tale but there will be that gap between this and how this witch became a "VTuber." So, I decided to look at it myself.

You wonder "Who is this on my screen right now?" Don't mind me, I'm just a storyteller doing work. Treat me rather as a passerby, not a major character. I'm totally irrelevant to the point I'm letting someone voice over this instead. I want you to shift your focus on our dear heroine sobbing over there.

As Nanasu Anone was "isekai'd" into this brand new world, with her story drastically turning to some weird comedy plot, she realized her major problem.

MONEY.

When she first arrived here, she got hungry and tried to buy some food in a convenience store with some coins she had in her pocket.

The cashier gave a weird look at her and the security guard calmly asked her to leave because the queue was getting long.

When she saw a pawn shop that exchanges the right currency in this world for valuable items, she tried to trade her jewels and gemstones.

But they were all fake ones so there was no real value for it. The teller simply had a laugh.

When she tried to sell self-crafted potions, she did make a hit for some folks.

But police officers came to warn her that although her magic show is quite impressive, her products are rather suspicious and potentially a severe public health hazard with all the fumes, halting her operations.

She tried to work as a janitor in some place that took her in despite her out of season Halloween costume but the pay didn't really make the cut for daily expenses.

Eventually, she had the idea of snatching phones at some famous church area and selling them as 2nd hand somewhere else. It did make quick cash, but that's not really seiso to do.

At the time I was witnessing this, I seriously had no idea what this leads to.

But it seems like she's not the only one that ended up in this world. Right now, she seemed to recognize some faces and having this tearful reunion right now. Although, the other party doesn't seem to react the same…

"JASOOOO! I KNEW YOU'D COME FOR MEEEEEE! I WANNA GO HOOOME!!" "Who are you?! Why do you even know my name???? Where did you even find this person?" "I see her at a street corner asking for alms." "STELLAAAAA!! WHY DO YOU HAVE FINSSSS?? WHO CURSED YOUUU?" "Somehow, I feel very offended by that." "Doesn't her voice kind of sound like that mannequin?" [J] "IT'S MEEEEEE NANASUUUUU ANONEEE AHUHUHU" "Even the name sounds oddly similar… Speaking of, where did that assassin go?" [J] "She's been gone for a while but I've usually seen her wanted posters around so someone probably claimed her bounty for good." [S] "Hmmm…" [J] (Nanasu somehow was done crying) "Listen, uh, Nanasu. We don't think we're exactly the same people you recognize but, like you, we're not exactly from this world either." [J] "Which is why we're thinking of putting you in the Black Market. You'll sell well." "Black Market?! You'll sell me?!?" "It's our Discord server. Also, I was (partly) joking." "Discord?? Huh??" "This sounds surprisingly dumber than the other one." (Be chill on her, she just came here.) "Miss Nanasu Anone, would you like to be a "VTuber"?" [S] (Sparkly eyes inspirational shot) "Well, you can use the equipment left behind since that member using it hasn't come back for a while." (I hope she's serving her jail time well.) "Equipment? It is like a job for me?" "Well, it's more like being a certain kind of entertainer. This world is quite merciful to us finding ourselves stranded in this place, people here are enticed by us beings from other worlds. They'd like to learn about us by watching our "streams." It's kind of a job where we can still keep being ourselves in our homeworlds."

"I wanna be a VTuber!" "Well, being one doesn't exactly pay you up right ahead so I advise you to find a side job besides that."

And so, finding familiar yet new found comrades, our heroine found home. Following their advice, she shortly found a job as a housemaid somewhere. With the equipment granted access to her since it has been left behind for a while, the great witch Nanasu Anone becomes a VTuber with the goal of, well…

MONEY.

I did kind of expect something like "I want to share the wonders of magic in this world!" or something along the lines of that. But knowing her history, it does fit her well. (Fake witch lol)

Something about her is truly bewitching.

And with all that backstory, my job is done. Quoting her master's familiar, "you who watches over her and this new unknown journey, will know the rest."
