Angel Steps

A merciful angel sent to Earth driven by her desire to prove that even bad humans are capable of change and deserve guardian angels. After living amongst humans, she determined that life on Earth more fun than returning to her duties in heaven and ran away from her responsibilities with the intent of playing games, becoming an idol, and enjoying the other aspects of human life.

Angel started out making ASMR videos on YouTube and continues to do so through the present day. She regularly releases new ASMR videos and streams live ASMR. The live ASMR streams have occurred on YouTube, Twitch, and YouTube membership streams at different times throughout the years along with Angel's preference for dual streaming and streaming on YouTube.

Frequently used ASMR triggers include:

• Water Sounds
• Words of Affirmation
• Heartbeats
• Ear Cupping
• Multiple types of brushes
• Hair brushing
• Repetition of trigger words

Additionally, Angel has also hosted multiple multi-creator ASMR events where multiple ASMRtists will release videos in sequence that share a theme or a main story. She has since stated that she greatly enjoys such events and plans to continue hosting and participating in them.

Angel Steps is a variety streamer and will frequently switch between games or try new games that vary greatly in genre, tone, and length. In the beginning, Angel did Minecraft pre-recorded videos that were uploaded to YouTube and would frequently be soft-spoken. Primarily, game streams have been Twitch-exclusive, however, dual streaming to YouTube and Twitch did occur for a period of time.

Angel Steps and her community love to frequently make self-imposed bets and challenges. The challenges and bets can vary wildly but are generally in the form of "if chat can do X, I will do Y" where a lost bet will result in some sort of punishment similar to the concept of the Japanese Batsu Game. Batsu vary greatly but are set by the person who made the bet and will need to do the punishment upon losing the bet.

Angel will often make bets where she will play rage-inducing games or games she gets personally angry at and would not otherwise play for the Batsu. During subathons, she has also used Batsu to offset time from the countdown timer. These Batsu games have included:

Since revealing her voice and no longer streaming and making videos solely mute, Angel Steps has expressed her love of singing and admiration for idols. This has manifested in the occasional karaoke stream and singing performance during streams. In 2024, she began the "Angel Steps Idol Arc". Since then, Angel has recorded and released multiple song covers featuring solo, duet, and group performances. During the 2025 subathon, Angel said she is actively working on an EP featuring multiple original songs.

In addition to pre-recorded covers and karaoke streams, Angel has also participated in and performed in multiple VTuber concerts. She has also hosted her own concert with plans to host more. One of Angel's dreams is to perform in a live concert and she has stated she plans to do so at an upcoming convention appearance.

On 9 July, Angel uploaded her first ASMR video to YouTube. During this video, only ASMR triggers were audible and Angel was entirely mute.

She continued to upload multiple videos throughout 2020, remaining entirely mute.

On 4 October, for her 10k subscriber special on YouTube, she uploaded a video speaking for the first time citing lack of confidence in her voice as the reason she had not previously spoken in videos.

Throughout the years following her debut, Angel Steps has done many donation marathons referred to as Subathons where the stream would continue across multiple days until a timer reached 0. This timer can be increased through various forms of donations with rewards to the community unlocked when particular threshold has been reached. Some of these have been capped where the timer cannot go past a certain endpoint, however, some have been uncapped with the timer was not restricted. This resulted in traditions of capped subathons around the fall or winter leading into the holidays and uncapped subathons starting in the spring.

Due to external forces, the Uncapped Subathon for Spring 2022 had to be put on hold before completion. Over the next few years, there would be multiple capped subathons. Whenever a subathon was uncapped, the time from the previous uncapped subathon was brought forward in effort to reduce the timer to 0, however, the timer continued to climb and climb before it once again had to be segmented and ending sometime in summer or fall of 2024. During this segmented subathon, the timer reached over 500 hours.

In Spring, a new uncapped Subathon was started that exceeded this height, reaching 800 hours before being driven down to 0 before Christmas.
