AP0110

AP0110 is an advanced avian robot made of stone resembling an owl, decorated with ornate gold details and glowing blue runes. At his core, he sports a glowing blue energy sphere and is covered in moss, flowers, and other foliage. Decorating his head is a brilliant sun-shaped halo. AP0110's limbs are incomplete and held together by tendrils of glowing blue energy. Four shutters cover his glowing blue eyes, which can move independently to be configured into various expressions.

In August 2024, Simon Fraser University's School of Interactive Arts and Technology (SIAT) announced an initiative in partnership with Sawmill Studios to create its first-ever "Virtual Ambassadors" in order to represent and engage with the SFU community. These Virtual Ambassadors would be functionally identical to VTubers. Auditions for the talent opened that September. The first duo of Vtubers, Mo and Faye Ayato, debuted on March 1st, 2025, livestreaming both separately and together on the SIAT YouTube channel, which would later be rechristened Cappuverse SFU.

On 27 February 2026, AP0110 debuted, staring in Faye and Mo Ayato's subsequent 1-year anniversary stream. In celebration of the debut, a line of merchandise was created, which included stickers and a T-shirt. The merchandise was sold at SIAT's convention appearances as well as online, via Etsy.

During his 1-year anniversary stream, Faye Ayato assembled Wren Akane and AP0110 to interview as a new Virtual Ambassador to seemingly replace Mo Ayato, whom at that point had been taking a hiatus for 5 months (Mo would make her surprise return on that very stream). Organising a game show for the two of them as part of their interviews called Who Wants To Be Employed?, Faye promised a role at SIAT as the reward. The three players would unite and share answers, with AP0110 coming in with 12 points at the end of the game, coming short of the winner, Mo, with 3582 points. All three participants were awarded with employment at SIAT nonetheless, thus completing AP0110's official officiation as a SIAT VTuber.

Officially a Golem or a Construct, AP0110 was created over 5000 years ago by an inventor named Rodriguez in the world of Avenaria. AP0110 and his creator were close, even having reverse-engineered a to enjoy games together. He was subsequently abandoned in a cave for unknown reasons and reawakened thousands of years later, gaining a distaste for sleep in the process.

Sometime during this most recent awakening, AP0110 learned of Avenaria's oppressive ruling body, the Bureau. Sometime later, he would meet an investigator from the Bureau in the forest, Wren Akane. AP0110 tried to warn them of the Bureau's ethical breaches, but these warnings would fall on deaf ears until Wren learned of the Bureau's subsequent detention and experimentation on AP0110. During this time, he was classified as a. Assisting them with the theft of an inter-dimensional communicator device, the pair subsequently fled Avenaria to, Earth. It is here that he would meet his counterpart from the previous generation of SIAT VTubers, Faye Ayato, who had also come to Earth from Avenaria. The two would become friends.

Upon coming to Earth, AP0110 and Wren landed in a field and would report to a Canadian immigration checkpoint, where AP0110 was officially classified as an "Autonomous Robot" and received official Canadian citizenship. Unable to pass him through a metal detector, they instead opted to simply pat him down. Shocked and appalled at his new predicament of poverty, AP0110 tried several birdbrained schemes to escape "destitution", as he was flabbergasted by Vancouver's high cost of living (and his inability to use Avenaria's currency of pure gold), including unsuccessfully buying 500% equity in Simon Fraser University. Nonetheless, he became enamoured with the idea of making things. Creativity became his life, and making a lasting mark on the world (not to mention employment) became his life goal, leading to his enrolment at SFU.

The following section recounts more general details of AP0110's fictional world of Avenaria, from which he originated before coming to Earth in his backstory, in no particular order.

• According to Generation 1 counterpart, Faye Ayato, magic portals function by envisioning the point of origin and the target location as clearly as possible before conjuring the portal. Because of this, AP0110's immigration to Vancouver was hampered somewhat by the fact that he had never been to Earth, and only had human media to envision what the place looked like. He and Wren would use Faye (himself the leading expert on portals)'s interdimensonal communicator, which was used to relay signals through the portals, to fix their location and make smooth the process of immigration.
• The average wizard from Avenaria would lose a fight to the average, due to lack of magical education producing subpar and sloppy casters who treat their wands like guns.

• The origin of magic in Avenaria was . The people of Avenaria were descended from birds, and through their song, it was said that magic entered the land. All magic is simply a translation from birdsong. Methods of casting include runes or phonetics, hence why Cappus are biologically incapable of using magic. (The spells are all tuned specifically for human use.)
• While Cappus are incapable of using magic, there are non-human species in Avenaria capable of understanding and replicating the magical properties of birdsong.
• Rodriguez was an ancient mage by Faye Ayato's standards, who revolutionised what magic looked like in Avenaria, allowing it to industrialise. AP0110, incidentally, is much older.
• The Bureau withheld much of the technology developed by Rodriguez in much richer cities. The feudal, medieval style city shown in Faye's lore trailer and the modern city shown in Generation 2's lore trailer actually exist at the same time, to illustrate the extreme gap of both knowledge and wealth that The Bureau created.
• The interdimensional communicator created by Faye to relay radio waves through his portals had to be scrapped together from spare parts due to the Bureau not sanctioning its creation. The communicator was seized by the Bureau anyway, until it was freed by Wren Akane and AP0110.

AP0110 is a self-described "Chill guy", AP0110 can get carried away when his hobbies and interests get the better of him. Analytical to a fault, he became fast friends with Faye Ayato (who introduced him to, much to the detriment of his imminent financial doom.) Despite his confident demeanour, AP0110 has insecurities, calling himself a "manlet" in comparison to robots from popular media, and delighting in the fact that he would be considered tall next to Earth's residents.

Like the other SFU SIAT VTubers, AP0110 is deeply opposed to injustice, which he believes breeds negativity. This functions as an extension of his desire to coexist with everyone. In his words, it "harshes the vibe".
