Lore
They say Aurelia was born from the silence between the waves. For a long time she wandered alone among coral ruins and moonlit tides, painting the silence with her voice so the ocean would not feel so empty. It was in that solitude when it heard her. The first whisper of The God came not as words, but as a chord - as if answering to her call.
The... melody wrapped around her thoughts, soft and coaxing. When she sang back, the sea itself seemed to answer her. She followed the sound until she found the Temple Below, half-buried in coral, its columns worn by currents, its halls shimmering with faint bioluminescent life. There, the whisper grew clearer.
The God called her chosen, and she accepted. Not out of greed, but out of longing. Longing to belong. To be seen. Now Aurelia tends to the Temple as its Priestess. Her prayers are songs. Her hymns are sacrifices. The believers who kneel before her are drawn not by fear, but by her voice. They call it worship. He calls it feeding.
Each prayer strengthens the being beneath the waves - though Aurelia, in her innocence, believes it to be love answering love. She sees herself not as a servent, but as a guardian of peace and beauty in the ocean’s depths. To her, the church is home. To him, it is a mouth. And sometimes, when the water grows still and the pearls begin to hum, Aurelia feels something vast stirring below. She does not fear it.
She only sings louder. Show more
