Monsi is an alley cat that was taken in by the former master of Café Mochikumi. When the master fell ill with no heir to take over the café, the café was doomed to close down. Wanting to serve his master and grant his wish of continuing to provide a comfortable haven for people from all walks of life to find respite, Monsi turned human overnight through the intervention of the greater beings.
Together with other misfits, he took over the Café as owner and continues to carry on the wishes of his late master.
