Marikyuun

Marikyuun is very passionate about magical girls, kawaii culture and Nintendo games. She often mentions she is quite shy around people, which is why she rarely reaches out to others for collabs.

She is very experienced with digital art and is always open to offer advice to aspiring artists who ask her questions about social media growth and illustration.

Marikyuun is quite hard working, as she created most of her stream assets, including her lore video, She also edits her own videos and draws all her thumbnails, merchandise and promotional material.

She has long, slightly wavy vibrant orange hair with a side ponytail, a large heart hairclip and a round blue hollow O-shaped clip, blue eyes, earrings and a pink jacket.

The name "Marikyuun" comes from her real name and she has been using it as her online artist alias since 2015, before she started streaming. Sometimes, the username is taken, so she has to add an extra N at the end, making it Marikyuunn.

Her YouTube channel was originally registered on 7th of January 2017. Her Twitch account was registered on 17 December 2018.

On 27 February 2020, Mari made her first test stream on Twitch. She originally streamed as an on-camera streamer, focusing on art, single single-player Nintendo games and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, a game she played competitively.

Early forays into the VTuber space began on 20 December 2020, when she held a Twitch stream titled " [ART+CHAT] Working on a V-Tuber Model! Day1 - character design". On 2 January 2021, a clip shows her streaming as a PNGTuber while drawing her original character. However, she mainly streamed on camera.

In late 2022, however, she decided to rebrand as a 2D character, in order to showcase her art at all times, even when she wasn’t streaming art. Clips featuring her current character design began to appear as early as 30 August 2022. The model featured some animation, although it was not fully rigged.

• The members of her community are known as the Calamaris, represented by tiny squids on the stream.

• Marikyuun was a normal girl until she got to high-school, when she met Calamari, a mysterious squid-like alien creature. They quickly became close and one day Calamari spat a heart-shaped magical gem that gave Marikyuun magical girl powers.
• After finishing high-school and running out of magical girl duties to do, Marikyuun eventually lost most of her self-confidence, which led to her losing the ability to use her powers.
• Now, 10 years later, Calamari gave her the mission to become confident again in order to get her powers back. That means streaming and creating content for people all over the world. When people support Marikyuun, their feelings take the shape of a smaller, digital calamari, who stays by her side so she can be reminded of how much she is loved.
• When enough calamaris are created, Marikyuun will find the power to transform into a magical girl again.

• Her favorite games and game franchises are Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Yakuza 5, Ace Attorney, Xenoblade Chronicles 1 & 3, and Super Mario Bros. 3.
• Her favorite color combination is pink, red, and white.
• Her favorite anime are Puella Magi Madoka Magica, Mob Psycho 100, Ojamajo Doremi, Heartcatch Precure, and One Piece.
• Her favorite Pokémon is Azumarill.
• Her favorite foods are sweets, cheese, gin sour, sushi and most pasta.
• Her favorite VTubers include Houshou Marine, Chocovania, SuperKrazyBones, and Ironmouse. Kureiji Ollie is her "oshi."
• Her goals are to let the world know she's not just an artist, to share her content with more people and improve as a content creator, to work on big projects with other VTubers and talented people, and to become a Twitch partner and full-time streamer and content creator. She considers the last one an unrealistic goal.

• She edits the majority of her videos herself.
