Naexi Glaurwyrm

She debuted on 20 January 2025 as part of VIVARIA's first generation on both Twitch and Youtube.

The battle was fierce, swords clashed and arrows bounced away from armor or met their mark. Giants flung men with ease, their sheer size shook the earth and crushed skulls beneath their weight. War stung the air, cries and screams ringing in her ears. She had chosen to stay out of it; local politics and the squabbling of men did not interest her nor did it often have a positive impact on the area. It would soon pass, and the uncanny silence of a graveyard would soon follow.

Despite this, word traveled that a precious friend, her precious friend, had taken up the blade and was thrown into a particularly dangerous situation. She remembered the anxiety of that moment, the sheer terror and shock. Rushing to their aid was the only option, she had to save them no matter the cost. The battlefield was not far off, viewable from the peak of her mountain home. A lump formed in her throat, hesitation stopped her when the fear of death stung her nose. But she could not be scared, they would do anything for her, so she must repay them in kind. Descending the mountainside proved difficult when she was in a hurry, stray arrows attempted to meet their mark thinking her easy prey. When she finally met the fight with wide eyes, the scene was almost unbearable.

But just in the knick of time, she saw them from across the battlefield. Tearing through bodies to get to them, claws slashed no matter the side they fought for. Landing in front of them in a flurry of movement, her lanky body did little to shield them. But she felt the overwhelming need to protect. Before words could fumble from her lips, two massive hands grasped at her limbs. One at the base of her tail, one on her left leg. She recalled how fast it happened, like popping the joint from a doll. Ripping the tail followed by the leg clean from her body, they were tossed aside so the carnage could continue. Before her eyes closed, the last image that rang true was her outstretched fingertips, reaching for them. What did it mean when she couldn’t protect those that she cared about?

Failure?

Upon waking up, life would never be the same again. Her tail and leg were replaced with bionic counterparts; wires now ran throughout her body alongside veins. Although beaten and scarred, she vowed to never let it happen again. She decided to become a symbol, a charm that travelers could carry when they needed protection. She now sews each pouch carefully by hand, imbuing them with her essence. And should you find yourself fearful and in need, wish upon the charm and call her with your heart.

• She dislikes: Brussels sprouts, shopping (or really going anywhere) alone, jumpscares, rainy days, sports, being late, wasting food, black licorice

• Glaurwyrm actually has a hidden meaning. ‘Glaur’ means gold in light or color (in the language of Sindarin). ‘Wyrm’— typically described as a huge limbless and wingless dragon or dragon-like creature. Thus her last name essentially means golden dragon.
• Naexi shares her birthday with two other characters from J. R. R. Tolkien’s universe. September 22nd is also the birthday of both Bilbo and Frodo Baggins. This is also the first day of Autumn.
• It is well known that Naexi often belches while streaming (and in general). This is because of her inability to breathe fire, as most dragons are able to do. But the tension and gas for breathing fire still builds up in her stomach, and the only way to release it is, unfortunately, by burping.
• As all dragons are, Naexi was unceremoniously hatched from an egg with no complications. After her accident, she began to classify herself as a ‘bionic’ dragon. ‘Bionic’— (adjective) having artificial body parts, especially electromechanical ones. ‘Bionic’ is not considered a species, therefore she refers to herself as a dragon/wyrm most often.
• The pink cords that hang from various parts of her body are not simply accessories. The key factor here is the antenna and cord that are attached to her head; they are directly wired to her brain and keep her leg and tail working/powered on. The symbol; indicates that the cord cannot be removed, else she risks her tail and leg falling off causing her to be unable to walk. The cord around her neck actually starts and extends from the back of her neck, where her cervical spine is, further helping to balance and interconnect the bionic and flesh systems of her body. The cord around her waist is an extension of the outlet at the base of her lower back, where the tail connects to the rest of her body. They are waterproof, she can swim and bathe with all cords intact.
• Naexi has a fondness for the toy ‘worm on a string,’ and owns many of them. ‘Wyrm’ is pronounced exactly like ‘worm.’
• Her favorite color is Purple.

Naexi Glaurwyrm is a bionic dragon, who was brutally injured after she was involved in an accident protecting a dear friend. She now has a bionic leg and tail to replace the ones she lost. She is still getting used to her new limbs, and as such is very accident prone.
