There is a softer side that Shoto is also very well known for. He has often been referred to as a "dog boy" as a result of his adorable puppy-like behavior, mainly in previous years, and dog ears and tail assets. His hobbies are going to the gym, taking care of his pet rats (rice ball, olive, pizza, and big rat), singing, and playing video games.

Shoto has an extremely soothing and ASMR-like voice. He makes good use of it in many of his RPG horror game playthroughs while doing voice overs, that or his notoriously high pitched screams when he gets startled. Shoto is a talented singer and has shared many of his song covers on his YouTube channel.

It is common for Shoto to banter with his Guildies. Shoto does however not shy away from keeping his Guildies in check when things get out of hand. Although in good fun, he gets teased and bullied by his audience on almost every stream that he does as a form of banter. However, whenever this banter gets out of hand, he doesn’t hesitate to keep his chat in check.

Despite any banter, Shoto makes a consistent effort to let his Guildies and his friends know he appreciates them deeply. He's incredibly supportive of those he's friends with and his community. He often emphasizes his gratitude to Guildies for not only the love they give him but to the community in general, encouraging them to support each other and other streamers and artists. He's mentioned that his community and friends are what he would call "home".

Shoto has dark purple hair and dark blue eyes. He wears a purple jacket with light yellow outlines on his cuffs and hoodie. Underneath he wears a light gray turtleneck with two gold necklaces and a gold chain. His pants are gray and consist of a brown almost gray belt and are rolled up to above his ankles. On his right leg, he wears a black garter belt which holds his knife. He wears black leggings that are visible up to his ankles and white converses with gray accents. He also can turn on dog assets which consist of purple floppy ears and a tail.

In his 2.0 outfit, his hair and eyes remain the same but his jacket is now black with a blue lining. Underneath his jacket he wears a gradient purple shirt. Beneath the shirt is a gray and black skin-tight wet suit with scaled sleeves that reach the cuff of his wrist. His pants are now light gray with a black leather strap on his left leg that now holds his knife. His sneakers are now light gray with purple metal straps that goes across the shoe's toe box. The guild's emblem stretches across the back of the jacket, displaying a black demon with a red blade positioned behind it.

In his 3.0 spring outfit, his hair is now a light purple with light purple eyes and two dark hair clips. He now wears glasses and a white cherry blossom earring on his left ear. His outfit consists of a gray V-neck under a shirt with light purple flowers. His undershirt is a long-sleeved white collared shirt with two gold leaf collar pins on both sides. He now wears a black belt choker around his neck and has demon horns that he can take off willingly. He wears a silver necklace with a dagger pendant as opposed to the three gold necklaces he had in his original design. His pants are now brown flannel patterned. He also has gray boots with black laces instead of the high tops and Converse he had in his previous outfits. He now wears a brown oversized coat with black clasps. On his hands he now wears a black ring on his ring finger, a silver bracelet with cherry blossom charms on his right hand, and a gold wreath ring on his left thumb.

His 4.0 Demon Slayer outfit features him with similar hair and a similar color palette to his original design, but now with significant eyebags and a dangling earring with a cuff and red gem. He has a fitted black turtleneck with a pointed neckline and a black trim, with a hole in the center and dark gold designs. He has an oversized dark muted purple hoodie with dark gold lining inside, on the sleeves and hood, and a dark gold zipper and designs on the arms. The zipper is an ancient (Vietnamese?) coin with a dark purple talisman. The back of his hoodie has a gold design, and the hood has dog ears. There is thick dark purple rope lacing the sleeves, a vibrant red yang charm at the bottom near some ripped weathering, and Shoto has fingerless gloves, black painted nails, and a bloody white cloth hanging from under the hoodie. He's wearing fitted black jeans with straps on his left thigh and right calf with a dagger, and black boots with straps. He has purple markings on his neck, slightly visible peaking out from the turtleneck. His outfit includes a black oni-style mask with blue detailing, and a black scythe with a long purple blade and a lantern.

Shoto's 5.0 outfit features him in pajamas. He has similar hair to his other outfits but with pink, yellow, and purple stars near his bangs. He usually has a husky/wolf sleeping mask on his hair. He has purple headphones with glowing rings on the ear cups. He is wearing an extremely oversized white Henley shirt with gray arms and lining. On top, he has a light purple cardigan with fluffy pink cuffs and lining, a yellow string with pom-poms, purple pawprints on the pockets, and a small Guildie sleeping in his left pocket. He has large pink socks with Guildies, pink flowers, and yellow sparkles on them. He has black painted nails. His toggles include a white controller in his hands, and a small light purple/gray rat named "Teemo" in his right arm with cheese in it's mouth.

Shoto's 6.0 outfit features him in a different art-style, with similarly styled hair but purple eyes with yellow circles in them and fangs. He is wearing a white Victorian blouse with a black pelerine/plastron with lace around the edges, intricate detailing including 4 pointed stars, and a gold dagger/cross in the center with a black piece wrapping around it, above gold clasps. He has a silver design on his upper arms, and the sleeves of the forearms have a purple cuff and are open below it, with black jagged edges revealing dark purple and black bracers, a silver brooch, black open-back gloves, and silver rings. On the lower left side of his torso, his shirt has black tentacles with eyes and golden details emerging from his waistband. He has 2 layered belts, with a 2 long gold charms attached and extending down to his knee. He has straight black pants and pointed black leather shoes. He has a toggleable dark purple hooded floor-length cape, with intricate black and gold detailing, including spiral helix designs on the trims, tentacles on his sides and back, black above his shoulders, as well as a long purple ribbon attached to the back and front of the cape with a gold brooches. He has large and thick purple and black toggleable tentacles behind him curving in various directions. His design art features him holding a black lantern in one hand and the long silver chain in the other.

On 2 October 2021, Shoto made his 2D model debut.

• Shoto's fans are called "Guildies," in reference to the members of his Adventurer's Guild.
• Guildies are depicted as small shadow creatures that can fly and become tangible if they wish to. They can take any form and can be given any animal characteristics such as dog ears, cat ears, bunny ears, etc. However, the base representation of a Guildie is a chibi dark skinned creature wearing a purple colored cloak.

According to his own video, Shoto led a peaceful life. Like any other kid, he had a mom, a dad, and some friends who loved him. He had planned to live a simple life. However, he was oblivious to what was coming for him and his loved ones. Shoto was born with magic powers and a God's blessing at the Bakumori village. Being Bakumori a place founded by demons, the people on it worshipped them and, as such, Shoto was taught the arts, techniques and history of Bakumori, for which he didn't seem to have much interest in at first, as he dreamt of following his father's steps and become a baker. Shoto didn't get to fulfill such a dream as he would later become a demon slayer.

Shoto grew up in Bakumori, a simple village with strong ties to magic and demons. Growing up, he learned their history, techniques, and way of life passed down to him through his people. He also learned that the ancient demons were the ones who built their village and that they were the only people who could produce the "Mana fruit." However, Shoto didn’t care about any of those things. All he wanted to do was to leave his home and venture into the unknown world one day.

He was just so curious about the outside world and wanted to learn so many new things. He wanted to follow his father’s career in baking. Shoto then goes on in the video to reveal that he was born with magic. However, it’s in the hands of the gods to decide whether this magic loves him or not. Treated as an outcast because of the God's blessing he had been given, Shoto had few friends while growing up. In the midst of all that, there was a boy who didn’t see him as a freak as the others did. This boy was his best friend, Ether. Ether wasn’t a native of the village of Bakumori. Instead, his family were immigrants from the far North. Ether, like many others in the village, was born with magic. However, the gods didn’t bless him as they did with Shoto. As they were complete opposites, they were also the only ones who could understand each other the best, being Shoto the one to teach him many things regarding magic mostly, they used to spend their time doing so many things together. Shoto would help Ether with his studies. They would spend day after day talking about magic, beasts, and distant worlds. They wanted to leave the village to go explore the unknown world together.

Shoto considers the gods of their land fickle, and they don’t really have any affection for them. They bless whomever they want. Gods like to pull and twist the strings of fate on a whim. They ended up choosing Shoto to give their blessing. Gods gifted Shoto with the divine protection when he was really young.

He had a heightened sense of smell and could differentiate and remember the scents of people, animals, poisons, their cures, monsters, or even the smell of spirits and demons. For him, no two things shared a single aroma. He felt like even emotions like sadness, joy, or anger carried their own scent.

Because of this divine protection by the gods, people in the Bakumori village started to fear and avoid him.

One day, as per usual in the Bakumori village, the gate to the demon's realm opened in a common ritual that occurred on a full winter moon, yet the people of Bakumori were not greeted with wisdom or blessings, but an army that went out to kill relentlessly the people of the village. At that time, Shoto took Ether's hand and ran away from Bakumori and its slaughtered people, thinking they would be able to make it out of it together at last. However, fate had something else in store for them. They came across a female demon, and she cast a spell on them. Shoto loses his ability to remain conscious, enabling him immobile while in her grasp.

Before he could come back to his senses, the demon attacked him. Ether tried to help Shoto but got his throat sliced. The demon left them there to die. Shoto, motivated by his dreams with Ether to see the whole world, got up with everything he had left in him and took Ether to the shrine where they first met. Ether was still alive but was hanging by a thread.

Shoto prayed to the gods for their blessings to save himself and Ether. Miraculously, a god did listen, and Shoto was instantly healed. However, when he looked at Ether, he was still bleeding, almost lifeless. Shoto started begging the gods again for his friend’s life. Someone listened, but it wasn’t someone whom Shoto recognized. They placed a hand on Shoto’s head, but he couldn’t see anyone.

On the other hand, Ether’s body was disappearing and converting into mana. His body was gone, and nothing was left but a "cursed knife." He calls this knife "the bane of all demons." After that night, Shoto vowed to rid the world of the demons’ very existence as they took everything from him, so he would take everything from them as revenge. He also promised Ether to live for both of them.

Because of the vow he took on the night of his best friend’s murder, Shoto was out hunting demons in their world. That’s when he came across a really playful and funny demon named Haku.

Blinded by the hatred he had in his heart for the demon kind, Shoto attacked Haku even when he tried to tell him that he had nothing to do with all those murders back in Bakumori. Shoto kept landing blows at Haku with his knife, the bane of all demons, and at last, Haku fell to the ground.

With his dying words, Haku somewhat convinced Shoto that all demons aren’t evil. Although Shoto was feeling guilt inside, he still had grudges against the demons in his heart because they took everything from him. However, Haku told him not to kill "them," and he was going to make them a nice meal, which is why he was in the woods to gather ingredients. That’s where the whole fight happened. Shoto then realized that he could smell two different demons, and that smell was coming from the house at which Haku was looking while dying. And he finally died, promising those two demons that he’d see them someday. That’s when Shoto started really doubting himself about his actions. He entered the house, where he saw two young demons about the same age as he and Ether were on that fateful night back in Bakumori. He saw the same fear in the young demons’ eyes as they had in theirs once when the demon attacked them when they were young. The names of these young demons were Tadashi and Kyren. Tadashi had a small stone in hand with which he wanted to protect his sister and himself. They asked him where Haku was. Shoto realized he had become the same monster that he swore to destroy. Shoto fell to his knees and started apologizing to Ether. And then apologizes to the kids for killing their friend Haku. The young demons were devastated by the news and ran toward Haku’s body. Seeing what he did, Shoto started digging a grave for Haku and promised to make up to the kids by showing them that he was really regretful for what he did. However, the young demons were having none of it, but Shoto remained persistent. And finally, through his kind and genuine gestures, he convinced them that he really cared.

That’s how they became friends, and then, with their permission, Shoto embarked on his journey to see the whole world as he promised his friend Ether to live for both of them.

• Foxslayer - Shoto and Mysta Rias. Formed when Mysta and Shoto had their first collab playing Super Bunny Man.
• Shoto and Bao Shoto and Bao. The two are very close friends, having known each other for over 10 years, and they sometimes refer to each other as siblings.
• Shoto has many VTuber friends with whom he collabs with and just to name a few: with Unnämed, Kuro Kurenai, Gavis Bettel, Michi Mochievee, GEEGA, and Shylily.

• Being a "Rogue Demon Slayer", the character is based on the rogue class in Dungeons and Dragons. This characterizes into his lore as a lone wolf that fights his own battles rather than with a group.
• His favorite genre of video games is horror.
• Despite Shoto's design mainly utilizing the color purple, Shoto's favorite color is blue. Specifically, cerulean.
• He is active at the gym and works out regularly. He would post pictures of himself from the neck down to show his progress and fashion sense on Twitter and Instagram.
• He has a garden in his home and tends to his mother's flowers when he can. His favorite flowers being hydrangeas.
• In early 2022, many have made comparisons between him and Mysta Rias of NIJISANJI EN. He says that they are nothing alike as unlike Mysta, he washes his rice.
• The two collaborated for the first time on 23 March 2022.
• They are both close friends and have interacted several times.
• He is bisexual. He came out to his parents and they are supportive about it.
• He likes (loves) feet.
• He is quite popular among both men women and has a large following in the LGBTQIA+ community.
• He loves animals such as cats and dogs but he especially loves rats/rodent creatures. As of March 2025, he has 4 pet rats: rice ball, pizza, olive, and big rat.

• Shoto is one of the first two Virtual YouTubers alongside Bao that is signed to United Talent, one of the world's largest talent agencies. Currently, the other two Virtual YouTubers signed with United Talent are Ironmouse and Zentreya.
