Yumie Tsuchinoko

Yumie's enthusiasm for her favorite games and anime has been called infectious by her viewers; sharing her favorite things is the reason why she made the channel, so she puts a lot of herself into her content. As a result, Yumie tends to make the type of content she'd like to watch as a viewer, so her videos and livestreams are often 2-4 hour long deep dives into video games and anime.

As a snake, Yumie has stated that she is frequently cold and wears lots of cozy sweaters to stay warm. Her husband Bear, on the other hand, radiates heat, and so both her and Chibinoko have a tendency to stick to him for warmth. Yumie often refers to herself as a bit of a boomer due to her age, and enjoys making slideshows to answer viewer questions.

As a viewer of many other content creators herself, Yumie has expressed her desire to make videos as accessible as possible by timestamping every video and refusing to place mid-roll ads on her videos, as she says this hinders viewers who are commuting or working while they listen.

As a cryptid VTuber, Yumie has a humanoid upper torso that ends in a long snake tail. Both her hair and tail are white with pink shading, and her bangs contain two red markings with thin eyebrows. These same red markings and coloration are found on her mascot Chibinoko, and both her and Chibinoko wear matching red knitted sweaters.

Yumie keeps most of her hair in a bun, but some of the hair has fallen out to form a thick strand that sways as she moves. One small fang is visible in her mouth, and her eyes are primarily red with orange and yellow accents.

Yumie debuted in October 2022 on YouTube, where she made a pre-recorded 40 minute video going over her lore, likes/dislikes, and plans for the channel. In this debut video, it was revealed that she had been working on her model since November 2021, creating the final version in July 2022. Yumie drew and rigged her own model, which she stated was quite the undertaking and not something she would recommend lightly. At the time of her debut, Yumie anticipated that she would only be able to post videos monthly due to her busy schedule, but she has since become more confident in her scheduling and now streams 4-5 times a week.

Yumie's official mascot is Chibinoko, a neck-pillow sized tsuchinoko that wears a matching red sweater. Chibinoko is referred to as Yumie's other-half and personified conscience, and she spends most of her time sleeping, eating, and being warm now that she is on the surface.

Yumie's fans go by several different names, all of which are considered valid: Tsuchitomo is the formal name used when new members join, and SnekClub is the casual name for the fanbase.

Yumie has been with Bear since college; the two of them play video games, TCG's, and watch anime together. Yumie has expressed that she is extremely jealous of Bear's height.

In Yumie's Lore Video, she is shown growing up underground with Chibinoko, where she slowly discovers that there is an outside world that has been hidden from her. After digging her way out, she is finally able to get proper clothing, games, and food, much to her and Chibinoko's delight. She meets Bear on the surface and the two bond over anime and video games, eventually moving in together and getting married. The Lore video ends with Yumie looking forward to a brighter, more colorful future.
