Astarte is a vampire who is allergic to humans. This happened because she ate a butterfly when she was a child and it destroyed her keratinocytes. Her body learned to repel the cell, so now any contact with humans can cause swelling, sweating and burning. Astarte has gone on record to say this doesn't affect her much since she grew up with it and... doesn't know any different. This does leave the question as to how Astarte became a vampire and the answer to that is at some point Astarte was playing Pokemon Go when she fell in a bush and died. However, her best friend saved her by resurrecting her into a vampire. Show more
