Personality

Cheryl is a moon alchemist, loosely based on the villain Odile from Swan Lake. Due to this, her narrative leitmotif is to live without being judged/antagonized, as seen in her YouTube debut.

Like a moon, Cheryl has two sides. She is intelligent and mature, yet does her best to remain young and have casual - sometimes dumb - fun. She often plays homely games, which tends to give her streams a comfy vibe, yet the right situation can make her chaotic side emerge. Cheryl dearly loves those who love her. She dislikes confrontation, but can be firm if needed.

She is passionate when expressing her opinions, so a viewer best be ready to listen, should they ask for one! Has no problem with agreeing to disagree with a different point of view. More generally, enjoys talking about her likes and experiences, appreciating an ear willing to hear.

Appearance

The main visuals motifs featured throughout Cheryl's design are the moon and the swan.

She has mainly pink hair ending in purple tips, which she wears slightly below the shoulders, in a style composed of twin side-tails, each decorated by ribbons. Her most prominent accessories are golden swan earrings, and a golden key dangling from her neck.

She wears a predominantly white magical girl outfit, with pink and purple details, paired with a transparent cape. Her torso features frontal and lateral holes, and independent loose sleeves. On her hands, Cheryl's nail polish is mainly purple with pink details.

Below the waist, Cheryl bears many references to Odile and Swam lake: she sports tutu-like frills on her skirt, a pair of pinkish-white wings, and - below a pair of long and slender, ribbon-wrapped legs, like those seen in a ballerina - a pair of ballet shoes, also ribbon-decorated.

Background

In the first half of 2024, Cheryl auditioned and was accepted to the NEXAS VTuber agency, being selected to debut as part of its 3rd wave, Class Yume - whose roster, after a period of internal preparations and fraternization, was finalized as composed of 8 members.

NEXAS teased Class Yume on 29 August 2024, announcing its VTubers and their respective Twitter accounts on 30 August. On that same day, Cheryl made her first tweet, with her model reveal taking place on September 6th.

Fans

  • Her fans are called "Lavalieres", an older term for "lockets".
  • Cheryl wishes her fanbase to be loud and passionate, while respectful and mature; for it to understand her, encourage her, and support her projects. While understanding she may not be her viewer's only oshi, she hopes to charm her way into being their #1!
  • The dedication one of her fans displayed promoting and campaigning for her led to the Super Chats podcast to institute a double secret-award during its VTuber Awards 2025, her fan being recognized as "Best Fan", and her as "Vtuber With the Best Fan".

Relationships

  • As a member of Class Yume, Cheryl shared a close bond with her generation mates, Mizuki Akemi, Ruri Tinytale, Wendy Wanderful, Nowi Inari, Kougami Harue, Cora Light, and Rune Atelier. Several Yume collab streams took place, with Cheryl often organizing. Within Yume each member is color-coded to a different heart emoji, Cheryl's being 💜.
  • Cheryl also keeps in contact with her former NEXAS seniors, having, after its closure, been part of collabs with the following Class Genesis and Class Nebulink members: Nell, Nox Orphee, Osian W.D. Whitlock, Mia Fenimore , and Silas Ain.
  • She is friends with independent VTuber Cyano Nightingale. After Cheryl's Twitch streams started in late 2025, Cyano regularly raided into them to end her own, and starting from 2026, the two have been in five group collab streams together.
  • Cheryl has also shared group collabs with the following independent VTubers: Leonik Vladof , Just Reiiz, ShotoXFaust, JAming, and ALacessit.

Likes and Dislikes

  • Her favorite color is purple, specifically periwinkle. She identifies with it over pink.
  • She is a massive foodie, yet her cooking skills made her mom bar her from the kitchen.
  • She likes honey chicken, chocolate milk, cheese ramen, snow fries, and spicy food. Her favorite fruit is the orange variety of melon; her favorite vegetable is broccoli.
  • Despite her love for food, she was unable to finish "Food Wars" due to the fanservice.
  • Her favorite Webtoons are "Villains Are Destined To Die", "True Beauty", and "Who Made Me a Princess." At times she read them in Korean when no translation existed.
  • Her favorite books are "History is All You Left Me" by Adam Silvera, "The Title of This Book is a Secret" by Pseudonymous Bosch, and "The School for Good and Evil" by Soman Chainani. Her most disliked book is Chuck Plahniuk's "Beautiful You".
  • Her favorite movie is "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" (the 2005 adaptation).
  • She used to be outspoken against Nintendo's Switch 2, advocating for Valve's Steam Deck instead. On the second half of 2025, fan donations enabled her to buy the latter, which she thoroughly enjoyed. Still, the release of Pokémon Pokopia in 2026 tempted her into getting a Switch 2, and she now proudly owns both consoles.
  • Her favorite Pokopia starter is Charmander ; her favorite overall Pokémon is Snorlax. She owns a plushie of the latter she got for Christmas in 2025.
  • She loves "sexy music that makes you depressed," and the song "Careless Whisper" by George Michael has become a running gag on her streams and tweets.

Miscellaneous

  • She has dabbled in poetry, song-production, pixel art, and video essays.
  • She is proficient at rizzing (self-proclaimed). This earned her the nickname "Cheryzzler" , which achieved finalist status on a "Best Nickname" award.
  • She shares a character designer, Virgo, with Kiko Hayashi and Charlotte "Charlie" Morgan. It was her illustrator's idea for Cheryl to be magical girl themed.
  • Cheryl compiled and featured a playlist on her YouTube channel, consisting of existing fan recordings of some of her AniLive streams, including her debut.
  • She opened a Marshmallow account in 2024, but had lost access to it by 2026.

Like streamer, like fan. Like alchemist, like apprentice. Remember that in good faith.

2024

On 15 September, Cheryl made her debut on AniLive, a streaming app for VTubers available for Apple and Android, with whom NEXAS had an strategic partnership. She was the 6th member from Class Yume to debut, as part of a 3-day debut relay. Lasting half an hour, she showcased her model in detail, introduced her likes and dislikes, and her future stream plans. 4 minutes in, she played an instrumental of George Michael's Careless Whisper, and though she did not sing along, it started a running gag of the song being associated with her.

AniLive not possessing an archive feature, Cheryl had mentioned a YouTube channel to host her VODs since the day of her debut. However, this was only silently created on 21 October, without any accompanying uploads. It was not until 1 December that Cheryl would announce her YouTube debut for the 15th, alongside her intention to make it her primary platform.

The long gap came as a result of her wishing to avoid hosting her debut in the immediate aftermath of NEXAS announcing its closure, decision already internally communicated. On 9 December, NEXAS publicly announced it would cease operations on 31 January 2025, with most members retaining their IP. Cheryl confirmed via a statement she would continue her activities as an independent VTuber, and that her YouTube debut would go on as planned.

Yet though 15 December had been her given debut date, voice discomfort made her postpone for the following day, finally debuting on 16 December with the title "Really in pain, Still gotta slay!". Lasting half an hour, it saw the introduction of a toggleable, floating version of her wand asset, and the performance of "Ultraluminary", from the animated musical "Over the Moon". The following two days saw her host one Class Yume collab and one solo stream, being these three her only YouTube streams of the year, despite having plans for a full week of them.

2025

Following the closure of the NEXAS agency and the AniLive app, Cheryl took a step back from streaming to spend time with her family, and to search for a job, which she found as a receptionist. Once she felt a degree of familiarity with her new position, she returned to streaming, her first stream of the year taking place on 18 March. During this period, she described herself as "a retired streamer turned full-time alchemist".

After a time of streaming irregularly on her off days, Cheryl quit her job, which she didn't feel welcome at, to dedicate herself to streaming full-time once more. This new phase began on 26 May, after discharging her responsibilities and registering as a content creator. Taking this break as a before and after with her AniLive days, she began focusing on streaming any game she is interested in, ranging from smaller creators to famous titles.

On 14 July, she opened her Throne wishlist, to receive snack tips and other fan donations.

On 16 August, Cheryl held her first handcam stream, with a dedicated setup funded by her fans, showcasing an art haul from a convention she had just attended, taking time to appreciate each item, and introducing the respective artists along with their socials.

On 18 October, she hosted an unarchived YouTube karaoke stream to celebrate her birthday, performing 12 songs for her fans, half being in English and the other half in Japanese. Her setlist began with "The Feels", featured Persona songs, and ended with "Careless Whisper".

On 5 December, Cheryl reached 500 subscribers on her YouTube channel. She had previously pledged to open a Twitch account upon reaching this milestone, which she did on 10 December, her first Twitch stream being a multi-stream of "60 Seconds" the next day.

On 22 December, KingYamiVT announced the nominees for "The Rising Stars Gala" award show he organized, Cheryl being featured as a nominee for the "Hidden Gem Award". On December 24th, Cheryl acknowledged her nomination, and made a post requesting a "strong effort" from her fans during the voting process, offering to release a cover should she win, even announcing the song as Toki wo Kizamu Uta. On 28 December, during the Rising Stars Gala award stream, Cheryl was announced as the Hidden Gem Award winner.

2026

On 10 January, the Super Chats podcast premiered the results of its Vtuber Awards on a 1 hour pre-recorded special. Having been previously confirmed as the finalist for two categories, "Best Nickname" (for "Cheryzzler") and "Best Taste in Games" , Cheryl lost the former to Autofister (Gigi Murin and Cecilia Immergreen) and the latter to Mint Fantôme. However, the efforts one of Cheryl's fan made to campaign for her during the voting process moved the hosts to introduce a previously unannounced, double award: her fan being recognized with the Best Fan award, and her with the VTuber With the Best Fan award. These surprise awards were the last to be announced, having the honor of closing the show.

Cheryl, having taken a year-end-break to spend the holidays with her family, scheduled her return for the first Monday of the year. However, a bout of illness forced her to postpone her planned return by a week, holding her first 2026 stream on 12 January. The next day, her symptoms reappeared, making her go on a new two-week break, hosting her second return stream of the year on 29 January, streaming but twice on its first month.

On the last day of January, the VCharm Indie Vtuber Group announced Cheryl as a finalist for the "#1 Mom Friend" category of its Girlypop Awards. The stream of the event took place on 7 February, Cheryl not being able to take the win, which went to Kaijuwus. The next day, Filunie announced that The Underground Awards, the vote-based award show she organized (open for streamers in general, not only Vtubers), would not have a dedicated video for its winners, revealing them via tweets - Cheryl winning the "cozy-maxxer" category.

On 23 February, Cheryl hosted her 100th YouTube stream.

On early April, Cheryl made known her desire to do recorded content uploads alongside her live stream activities, the first of such videos being posted on 26 April, a two hours Make Room build condensed into less than 10 minutes of highlights, alongside her narration.

On 20 May, after a 3-hour stream the previous day, Cheryl informed her fans she had lost her voice again, and gauged interest for a mute stream. This stream took place the next day, being broadcasted exclusively on Twitch - as a result, Cheryl promised to upload an edited VOD with commentary to YouTube. Her voice-acting of in-game dialogue - a hallmark of her streams - having played a role in straining her voice, she announced two decisions when sharing her next stream schedule: she would no longer voice act character dialogue, and would stop streaming visual-novel-esque games that heavily featured unvoiced dialogue.

On 31 May, the same day Cheryl reached 750 subscribers on YouTube, she confessed that the two times she had lost her voice in the year, earlier in the month and back in January, she had been practicing/recording Toki wo Kizamu Uta. While she remained open to publishing a cover of the song as she had promised, she also asked her fans if she could replace it for another, to which they voiced their agreement. On this occasion she also informed them she had figured out the required tax process to enable affiliate monetization on Twitch, but that she wouldn't do so until achieving the self-imposed goal of 350 followers on the platform.

On 26 June, the Hololist VTuber database implemented a new spotlight feature for financial backers of the project; Cheryl became one of the first VTubers to be featured under it.

On 29 June, Cheryl uploaded her first YouTube shorts, a mini-cover of "Steal the Show" from the animated movie "Elemental".

To start the year's second half, she hit 800 YouTube subs and 100 Twitch followers on 2 July.

Quotes
  • "I remember when I told my mom that I’ve always wanted to be a singer, I’ve always wanted to be an artist. My mom told me, no. ‘No, that doesn’t really get you anywhere.’ (…) But, I didn’t really give up. The dream that I always wanted to be a singer has always been there. It just never stopped. I just continued singing, I just continued performing, until I stopped for a while, because I had to get serious in college. (…) And then, when I graduated, I was feeling a little empty, inside. Because, this is not what I wanted to do (...). So when I graduated everyone around me was so excited for their future, they were finally gonna be looking for a job, a dream job – I don’t really have a dream job because my dream job is to be an artist. To release music. To perform. To connect with fans, a community. And then, YouTube happened. Streaming happened. So here I am.”
  • "I don't wanna see my fans as just like, 'oh, this is my bank', 'oh, these are just numbers for me', 'oh, these are just, this', 'my fans are just this and that' - I don't wanna see that, because behind every single username in my chat is a person, who goes through the motions of life as I do, and it feels very dehumanizing, to just see my fans as ATMs..."
  • "Same here with VTubers. (...) We want people to look at us like people. We want to be seen as entertainers, we want to be, like, complimented because we're funny, we want to be complimented, 'oh, you made me laugh today', 'you made my day', 'you gave me have the courage to keep on doing the job that I do even though I hate it', or, 'you made me feel motivated to, like, continue my art, continue my passions' and stuff."
  • "I'm gonna be honest with you guys? I prefer most of my community have me as their main oshi. That's what I want my community to be. Usually I just say, 'I'm ok!', you know, I'm ok with being a second oshi, stuff like that, but personally, what I feel inside? I rather be someone's main oshi, rather than, 'oh, my actual oshi is not live today, I just happened to watch your stream'. I want someone that appreciates me as their content creator."
  • "Remember when I took a break, because I was demotivated for a while (...)? I was thinking, 'there are people that do look forward to me coming back again, and there will be more people that will watch me in the future, and I can't let them down', so I came back here to stream again. I could have gone on forever, just completely abandoning this channel, but I thought that there are people waiting for me now, and there are people that will wait for me in the future, so I came back. I didn't wanna disappoint people."
  • "If you guys are not here, then the stream is half empty. And if I'm not here, and you guys are here, then the stream is half empty too. So, either way, we complete each other. One cannot work without the other. It's not about half full or half empty, alright? It's a symbiotic relationship. A streamer cannot be without their fans, and the fans cannot be without their streamer. (...) Remember, the only reason we see the moon in the sky, is because of the sun: the sun helps it shine. Thank you, thank you. I'll be here all night."
  • "That's how it should be. Kiss my feet! I feel people deserve to bow to me, that's right!"
  • "I compare you guys to mochi, because that's how you guys are to me. (...) We start as strangers: you guys were once rice paste. Rice has no taste, unless you add something to it. (...) That's how strangers are. (...) From a general perspective, rice paste has no impression, mochi has no impression, but the moment you bite into it, that's when you realize, 'oh, it's sweet inside!'. I like to think that the people who become my fans are like that. (...) when you bite into it, they're actually full of substance, they're very sweet."
  • "If you respect my boundaries, damn, I'll kiss you mouth to mouth - with consent."
Name
  • "Alcmene" is a pun on "Alchemy", and also the name of Hercules/Heracles' mother.
  • Her unique name prides her, yet the inability of others to pronounce it mortifies her.
