Appearance
DJ RIO has short white hair, with thick white eyebrows and eyes with yellow irises. She has distinct triangular orange markings under her eyes. As a fox girl, she has black fox ears and a gray-white fox tail. She wears clothing from the VR Apparel brand KEMONO FABRIC TOKYO, including a distinctive navy blue cap with ear holes.
Background
DJ RIO's Twitter account was created in April 2007 while the YouTube channel was created on 7 October, 2018.
On 4 November 2018, DJ RIO announced that she will be debuting as a VTuber, with a 3D model being prepared. The design was illustrated by Mogumo.

On 14 January, she did a Marshmallow Q&A reading stream to celebrate her YouTube channel reaching 1,000 subscribers.

On 20 November, DJ RIO did her last public stream on YouTube: a collab featuring three other company presidents: "Akaguwa," the president of Mirrativ, Inc., "Takeshi," the president of Activ8 and "Cluster Katou," the president of Cluster, Inc.

On 30 September, REALITY, Inc. and DJ RIO announced her graduation as the CEO of REALITY, Inc.

- On 15 January 2019, DJ RIO participated in and streamed the "VR FUTURE SUMMIT" event to discuss VR and VTubing along with representatives from HTC VIVE Japan, the virtual/augmented reality start up HIKKY Co. Ltd. (organizer of the virtual convention VKet), and the metaverse platform VirtualCast.
