Monii's Twitch account was created on 24 December 2018. She streamed on Twitch at least as far back as January 2019, though not yet as a VTuber.

Before her debut, Monii first came to fame in the VTuber community in 2022, when she worked on DO U, hololive English member Takanashi Kiara's fifth original single. The song was a major hit for Kiara, with the music video becoming her #1 video with 10 million views by 2025. Monii went on to produce numerous other songs for Kiara as part of Asteroid Music Team.

On 9 May 2025, she held her debut livestream as a VTuber.
