Nemu

On 13 July, Nemu announced her first 1,000 Twitch followers, celebrating with a 24-hour Minecraft stream.

On 7 August she announced a 3D model for use in VRChat.

On 8 October 2020, Nemu was made a Twitch Partner. At this point, she had 7,800 followers on Twitch. She actually received the Partner status offer several weeks earlier, but missed it because the email was in her spam folder. Nemu did not tell her viewers this, and pretended it had just arrived. She was one week away from a self-imposed deadline after which she had planned to quit streaming if she had not achieved Partner status.

On 28 October, Nemu reached 10,000 Twitch followers.

Starting on 29 November, Nemu played in Leaflit's weekly Dungeons & Dragons game. She played a character called Henn, a high fae ranger / fey pact warlock with a custom harpoon gun. Nemu described the character as completely broken in any normal campaign.

On 16 March, Nemu began the process of switching software from Facerig to VTuber Studio. On 3 April, she completed the revised version of her model, referred to as "Nemu 1.5", and moved her character model to the left side of the screen.

On 13 April, Nemu received a 5,258-person Twitch raid from Nyanners, who had just finished an Among Us collab with Kizuna Ai. Nemu sung "magi magi karp karp" for new followers for 39 minutes.

On 6 May, she established the Nemu VODs YouTube channel.

On 9 September, Nemu officially changed her Twitch account name from LunatheMagikarp to Nemu, and her Twitter from @LunaMagikarp to @OsakanaNemu. She planned to continue using the Magikarp notifications.

On 24 October, Nemu debuted her new Live2D avatar, illustrated by wickedAlucard and rigged by shioutishirom. It introduced three alternate outfits: tomboy, royal, and shark onesie, in additional to her traditional Suizokukan t-shirt.

On 20 February, Nemu went on a short hiatus for personal reasons. After a brief Mental Darkness Kitchen stream on 28 February and an interlude stream on 18 March, she officially returned to streaming on 25 March.

On 24 April, Nemu celebrated her two-year anniversary, in which she debuted a new chibi model.

On 29 April, Nemu began a CHAOSathon, a form of subathon with bizarre rules in which subs and donations could increase or decrease the timer. They can also trigger a spin of a random wheel, which could increase or decrease the timer in increments as large as one day. During the subathon, she received a raid from Lord Aethelstan which had her singing the Magikarp song for 30 minutes.

On 4 May, during the CHAOSathon, Nemu was banned for DMCA violation due to video content which played while she was sleeping on stream. Nemu called it "about the most chaotic thing that could happen in the middle of the chaosathon". The ban lasted two days and the CHAOSathon continued on Friday, May 6, at 2:30pm.

On 7 May, Nemu reached the milestone of 50,000 Twitch followers.

The CHAOSathon ended on 9 May, after a random roll subtracted over 3 hours from the timer. Since the timer was not counted during outages, the subathon officially lasted until Day 7.

During November, she held Non-Stop Nemu November, during which she intended to stream every day. Despite health issues, she managed to stream 24 days of the month, and then filled in the missing days with a week of 7 NNN Aftergamer streams from 2 December to 8 December. She took a break and returned to streaming on 19 December.

On 30 December, Nemu unveiled her alternate witch model, drawn by Kayla and rigged by Shirom-san, who rigged her standard model. Her witch model features a large hat, twintails, glasses, an a white coat, and orange skirt, and a black spell book called the Nemunomicon. In this form, Nemu is not a real magic user, merely a self-described chuuni whose only forms of magic are "The Gathering" and having wet socks.

Following her stream on 18 February, Nemu went on hiatus from her Twitch channel. She returned to streaming on 31 March.

On 13 June, Nemu began TubesDays, a plan to stream on YouTube on Tuesdays in order to diversify her streaming platforms, as a response to changes to the Twitch partner contracts. She would ultimately continue to focus her streaming efforts of Twitch.

On 23 July, Nemu announced an indefinite hiatus to handle work-related responsibilities. On 29 July, she held a leaving stream titled "So long and thanks for all the fish~". She estimated that the hiatus may last up to a few months.

On 12 November at 12pm PST, Nemu returned from hiatus.

During 2024, Nemu streamed for 395 hours in total, and was active on 102 days, taking frequent breaks from her schedule for health and work-related reasons.

Following a stream on 29 December, she officially took a hiatus from the Twitch channel.

On 6 June, Nemu returned to streaming on Twitch, declaring that she had been gone for three years. Unfortunately, due to health reasons, she took a long-term hiatus from streaming after 6 July.

• Nemu used to have a soup plate. This is because it would cool faster, so she could eat the soup faster.
• She once fell asleep eating chocolate in bed.
• Nemu used to have a special maze-shaped baking tray that allowed her to create brownies which were all edge pieces.
• Fennel seed tastes like gasoline to her.
• She once drove a car through a river. Once, at driving school, she bought an entire discount pineapple as a snack and cut it up using a plastic knife from McDonalds, eating about half of it and handing out pineapple wedges. Nemu is no longer allowed to drive.
• Nemu suffered from dehydration, which she attributed to eating crackers in bed. This did not stop her from eating crackers in bed.
• She uses her phone as a tray to carry hot plates.
• She pronounces "egg" to have two syllables.
• She installed a mini-fridge, microwave oven, and toaster oven in her bathroom. She calls this her "shitchen".
• She eats celery sideways to get at the "floss".
• She eats Mentos by biting it lengthway with her front teeth and shearing off the outer coating of each half.
• She has to eat penne pasta by threading it onto the prongs of her fork.
• She eats ice cream with the back of a spoon.
• She eats pizza sideways along the edge so that it retains its triangular shape throughout, rather than ending up with crust.
• She also cuts pizza off-center, allowing for longer slices.
• She eats cereal with 60% apple juice instead of milk.
• She cuts chicken nuggets in half with a knife in order to have "more nuggies per nuggie".
• She eats salt as a snack, and keeps a selection of different types of salt.
• She once ate marbles.
• She used to drink a mixture of milk and Diet Coke.
• She once forgot to clean her rice cooker for several days. Concerned it may have gone mouldy, she decided to just never make rice again so she wouldn't have to open it. She finally opened the rice cooker two years later. Rather than clean the rice cooker, she just threw it out.
• She used to have a "plating station" for transferring takeaway food to disposable paper plates, located halfway between her front door and her computer. This was to save time when ordering food during streams. She didn't have a table, so the plating station was on the floor.
• She performs ghoulish experiments on gummy bears, adding parts from other gummy bears to make Franken-gummy bears with extra limbs, or heart transplants of other colors. She would use cocktail sticks to impale a line of gummy bears.
• She likes to consume peanut butter M&Ms in Sunny D as a cereal. "It's like chocolate orange plus peanut." She would also put a peanut M&M in a capful of Sunny D and drink it like a shot.
• She eats cookie dough pop tarts frozen.
• She dips Ritz crackers in Diet Coke.
• Her diet contains more than the average amount of plastic.

• She likes to swim at edges of deep underwater ravines, where you can look over the edge into the abyss.
• She is scared of whales. A whale's cry is so loud that it crushes your lungs, causing them to fill with blood. Sound travels much better through water. However, she likes dolphins and sharks, describing sharks as "beautiful", "extraordinarily cute, and very sweet", and "absolutely adorable". She enjoys swimming with sharks.
• She is allergic to so many land-based things that the doctors had to extend the allergy scale. Among the things she is allergic to are grass, trees, paper, rain, and the sun. She's also allergic to photosynthetic plankton and her own sweat. Scientists have studied her in a laboratory.
• Nemu's favourite fish is the Pacific spiny lumpsucker.
• Her streams often feature excessive headpatting. Viewers can redeem channel points to summon The Hand, who is Nemu's son.
• The Hand Golem, a creature created from headpat hands with eyes, is also her son. The Hand Golem loves jello, gogurt, and Lego. Leaflit is the Hand Golem's godmother.
• Nemu once bought a Nintendo Switch, capture card, and other accessories to become a Super Smash Bros. Ultimate streamer, but discovered during her first Smash stream on 2 October 2020 that poor online experience made the game unplayable. She was so annoyed that she added an on-screen note reading "Nintendo is a scam - DO NOT BUY A NINTENDO SWITCH" and played the game for a full 24 hour stream just to spite Nintendo. She was the most viewed Smash Ultimate streamer on that day.
• Nemu once entered Leaflit's Waifu Wars create-a-character contest. The theme of the contest was "Seiso Waifu", meaning "pure". Nemu instead created a dog girl with purple octopus tentacles named Professor Wagglewompy.
• She created a Dark Souls III character named Kirito Bradley and defeated difficult late-game boss Dancer of the Boreal Valley with mouse and keyboard, without locking on, without rolling diagonally (due to a keyboard glitch), while only level 15, without wearing armor, and without having played a Dark Souls game before. The process took multiple attempts spanning 10 hours and 47 minutes across three streams, and was followed by a 64-hand pat. She later complained that the boss fight was too easy.
• When she beat Dark Souls III, she played through again using a Dark Souls III Pokémon mod that lets you capture enemies and battle with them. She named her character Ass Ketchup.
• She played Elden Ring for the first time with a set of conducts that included no armour, no horseback attacks, no levelling above the minimum stat requirements for gear found, and must equip most recently found item of each type. She picked the Wretch class and created a completely blue character named Gragago Fast.
• She generated a new Minecraft world and spent most of a stream digging out an entire world chunk down to the bedrock. It took approximately 5 hours 22 minutes and she deleted the world immediately afterward.
• She once befriended a tarantula named Jeremy and played Smash Bros with it.
• She used to play with slugs and snails a lot. She once found a giant banana slug and they went on an adventure together.
• Although fighting games are normally played with either a controller or fight stick, Nemu played Guilty Gear Strive with mouse and keyboard.
• She has a spider in her bathroom, whom she named Jerry Tinklestein.
• She likes to sleep on a big rock. She has a favorite rock, and has to hike over a mile to reach it.
• Nemu's tongue is so long that she can lick her own sternum. She doesn't think this is particularly remarkable.
• She can put a Starburst candy wrapper in her mouth and use her tongue to make it into an origami frog.
• She can burp on command. She used to be able to burp the entire alphabet in three to four burps, sometimes fewer.
• She once got a fishing hook stuck in her hand and had to go to the hospital to have it removed. She kept the fishing hook and later used it for fishing.
• Nemu was only subscribed to one YouTube channel: Bryan Ropar's Plastic Chair World.
• She has since also subscribed to 手工耿Handy Geng, Gemmy Master Animatronics, livelife365, JURASSIC_ZILLA_2022, and Amaury Guichon.
• She used to have goats, who she went swimming with. They were very skilled a jumping and kept getting onto the roof.
• She commissioned intro music from a professional composer and pianist at great expense, only to later make her entrance theme the British novelty song "One Pound Fish".
• Later, her chat commissioned One Pound Fish Man Muhammad Shahid Nazir to produce a custom version of the song, titled One Pog Fish. Nemu now uses this as her intro music.
• She named her Pokémon Legends: Arceus character "ßůššïñšHëêšH".
• In Pokémon Violet, she named her character "ßůššïñšHëêšH" and played under a set of conducts: each Pokémon can only win against five trainers before retiring, no duplicate Pokémon, no battle items, set mode, and must battle trainers who spot you.
• For the past several years she has exclusively walked on her toes. She does not like the feeling of her heels on the floor.
• She randomly makes "BWAH" noises. They are similar to hololive member Ouro Kronii's tendency to make noises which sound like "Gwak!"
• She starts streams by saying "good morning" even though it's usually not morning.
• She is so tall that she can't see things at ground level. A roommate once left a bottle of conditioner outside her door and she didn't notice for a month.
• She had chat vote on a Gen I-III Pokémon Smash or Pass, then informed them that they had actually selected allowed Pokémon for a "Haremlocke" challenge run of the modded Pokémon Vintage White. She played with the additional conducts of no battle items, set style, level caps, and no grinding for IV or nature.
• Her house has burned down five times.
• She attached googly eyes to her vacuum cleaner. She also drew a face on a box cutter and named it Agent Chompy.
• Her car is named Dr. Shlorpenstein.
• Her bicycle is named "The 2007 Beige Toyota Corolla, the bike."
• Her PC has a sticker of Yuuko from Nichijou saying "Yes, this is a bad financial decision."
• She keeps all her socks in a sock bucket. She picks pairs based on matching stitching and no other factor. She doesn't like wearing socks, and once got frostbite from walking barefoot on a cold concrete floor for extended periods of time.
• She is afraid of hallways and fridges that don't open toward the sink.
