On the distant planet of Battalia, after many years of conflict with each other the nations of the world finally come together in a lasting peace, sharing technology, armed power, and combining all their armies under one banner of the Alliance of Nations. Hunter (A recent graduate of the frontier rifle academy) yearned one day to train to be a pilot, to soar through the skies and one day even see the stars. One year after his graduation, in the border city of New Austin, Hunter and his squad were on routine patrol when what sounded like thunder echoed all around them, the sky turned a crimson red and red blasts of plasma rained down from above followed by thousands of mechanical drones that blacked out the sky. Hunter was briefly knocked out by the initial barrage but soon came to, to chaos and destruction all around him. Re linking up with his squad who presumed he was killed he helped orchestrate the evacuation of New Austin in what would be known as I-Day.

The battle was long and fierce with many causalities on Hunter's side and as they held off thousands upon thousands of Collective drones until the city could be fully evacuated, As the final civilian transports left and was the defender's turn, Hunter's transport was destroyed as he was boarding it, wiping out his squad in the process. Eventually he escaped the city on his own, battered and bruised, and relinked up with the Alliance force, where he learned that the attack wasn't just in the city but all across the planet.

The War of Blood and Metal was a costly conflict resulting in heavy casualties on the Alliance side and moderate losses for The Collective. Soon it was learned that The Collective was siphoning Battalia's core of its energy, killing the planet in process. Through long deliberations the Alliance of Nations council decided to make the difficult choice to abandon the planet. The evacuation took over 6 years to complete, during that time Hunter enlisted in The Pathfinder Program where he underwent intense survival, combat, and piloting training to undertake the Pathfinders job of surveying planets to see if they meet all the requirements for habitation.

Hunter assisted in the defense of the final evacuation point in the planet's southern hemisphere, making sure all civilian transports and remaining military transports broke Battalia's atmosphere before boarding his gunship Sundance and joining up with the fleet, looking back at his home planet one last time before making the jump through null space, never to see it again. After a month's time Hunter began his job as a Pathfinder, heading out into the void to distant planets to survey them for habitation purposes, all the while he had to deal with hostel fauna, rogue Collective fleets, and the ever-crushing boredom of being by himself for weeks to even months at a time. It was then he brought out some old broadcasting equipment, dusted off his collection of games he brought with him before evacuation and began to livestream himself whenever he had the free time to do so.
