Commodore Zeno led a coastal exploration team to the Arctic Circle. After having his ship attacked and destroyed by a large Kraken-like seamonster, he flees to find shelter on a small nearby arctic island. While looking for essential supplies, he stumbles upon a hidden cave, full of luminous crystals leading to a treasure chest. Inside is a sword... with a blue sheen and yellow glow. As soon as he grabs it, he is filled with a vengeful intent to slay the beast who destroyed his ship. After returning to the monster, he lunges and pierces the beast with steel, as well as spikes of frost and crackles of electricity from the sword. The beast is slain, but Zeno wants more. More battle and more treasure!
Determining that these arctic islands have never been explored, as well as having no more means nor desire to continue his previous task, he decides to disband, renounce his title, and continue on as a lone treasure hunter.
--Or so he insists. When authorities insist no such person nor expedition exists in record, he gives the rebuttal, "then where did this battle jacket come from?!? Eh? Where did it come from?!?". Speculation suggests it may be a costume from a seasonal Spirit of Halloween store, accompanied by delusions of grandeur.
