The former personal knight of the heir to a distant kingdom. After the kingdom was overthrown by a neighboring country with the assistance of some rebellious citizens, Sedum assisted its liege in escaping by taking their place and disguising itself so that it would be executed instead. Through some interference, it was revived as the dullahan you see today.
Of course, this is an alleged account from the dullahan itself. Whenever Sedum recounts the tale, its smile as it reminisces never quite reaches its eyes, and there is a distinct detachment that suggests there is more to the story than it lets on.
