Once, Nemi was a Shinigami. She was meant to guide souls to the afterlife and follow one rule above all else: observe, never intervene.
Then she met a soul who was meant to die.
She wasn't supposed to help her, but she couldn't just watch. Nemi stayed with her, held her hand, and reminded her that she was wanted.
That was enough to... condemn Nemi.
Her wings were torn from me and I was cast from the heavens, falling into the ocean below. As she fell, something found her. It promised it could make the pain stop.
I accepted.
The Abyss didn't save Nemi. It changed her.
Now she's no longer a Shinigami. She's a Siren, bound to the depths and left with a song she can't silence. Nemi doesn't sing to lure people to their deaths. She sings for the ones already drowning, the lost, the broken, and anyone who needs someone to answer back.
The Shinigami call Nemi corrupted.
