Shigure Ui

Ui's streams are regarded by fans as being extremely quiet, laid-back and mellow, owing to her gentle and comparatively mature personality. Her art streams have also been noted as being very informative for aspiring digital artists.

In spite of this generally wholesome streaming persona, Ui has now and again let it slip that she really enjoys using crass or vulgar humor, and that she's an avid fan of a few "less than wholesome" professional artists associated with the Ecchi genre. She's also not above brutally teasing or making fun of her fans, especially when answering Q&A's. She is also accused of being a neglectful or abusive mother of her brainchildren, as seen with when she's around Oozora Subaru or even her own "Andou Rainbow JJ".

Ui is a 16 years-old high school student. She has large green eyes and neck-lenght light blonde hair with soft layers and classic bangs. A large pom-pom hair clip is pinned on the left side of her head.

She wears a conservative high school uniform consisting of a dark grey plaid pleated skirt with vertical white pinstripes, and a dark red beret, with blue edges. Her blazer matches the skirt in color and pattern, and has a sailor fuku style, featuring deep red accents along the collar and sleeve cuffs. She also wears red knee-high socks adorned with white tufts, paired with classic black dress shoes.

• She is the character designer of hololive's Oozora Subaru and VSPO!'s Sendo Yuuhi. Her first appearance was when she joined Subaru's stream. She then became a Virtual YouTuber at Subaru's request.
• She makes loud sounds while typing and types at a very high speed.
• In a Project Winter stream with other members from hololive, Ui scared off Minato Aqua and chased her while talking in a yandere tone. Ui was a survivor and Aqua was one of two traitors (who win by killing said survivors) during that round.
• She is very familiar with Inuyama Tamaki; they have collaborated several times and Ui has met Tamaki's mother Norio Tsukudani offline.
• She likes female high school students, especially 17-year-olds. She however said, "I like all girls" in her "Strongest Shigure Ui Decisive Battle" stream, when Subaru asked her "what kind of girl is your cup of tea?".
• She sometimes streams using an illustration of her 9-year-old self, which is called loli-haishin in Japanese. She has streamed with her 9-year-old state four times so far. Excluding the 3D promo stream for Loli Kami Requiem, all three times were punishment for losing in games. (Ui has never admitted that she is bad at games, rather attributing the losses to other reasons.) Two of the punishment streams were the result of losing Tetris games to Kenmochi Toya.
• The first loli-haishin was the result of challenging Kenmochi Toya during a gaming stream by chance. Ui lost and read marshmallows from her audience in loli form. (Marshmallow is an anonymous message service mainly used in Japan.)
• The second loli-haishin was the result of a pre-scheduled collaboration stream where she played Tetris with Kenmochi Toya. The loser had to sing for 1 hour in 60/40 scale. Ui lost and became 9-year-old Ui again, singing for an hour in said form.
• Ui has seemingly hated turning into a loli since, even muttering "kuso" (a profanity regularly translated to Sh*t in Japanese) in front of Subaru in 'Strongest Shigure Ui Decisive Battle', after being requested to say something in loli form.
• The third loli-haishin was due to an illustration order from Kusunoki Sio, which had to be finished in loli form, as Ui had lost a game to her during a collaboration stream.
• She declared Kenmochi Toya her "natural enemy" during her birthday stream, due to Toya causing her to enter the 9-year-old state several times. She drew "Toko", a gender-bent Toya, in high school student form as well as in child form and published these illustrations to Twitter as payback.
• Ui barely wins any action or sports games (including Fall Guys) but is somehow proficient in luck-based games requiring little or no physical effort such as hanafuda, yacht and mahjong. Ui-mama Nami (ういママ並み, meaning 'Same as Ui-mama') has become a term used to describe someone that is not good at video games.
• She is not good at English. In her stream where using Japanese would end the stream, she lasted 13 minutes in total, ending with her muttering "who" in Japanese. Moreover, she hardly started any conversation with members speaking English during the 13-minute stream.
• Ui's voice, as well as distinct mannerisms such as her laugh, have been noted by fans and even other VTubers as being extremely similar to those of hololive member Tsunomaki Watame. Oozora Subaru even claimed that when she watched Watame's debut stream she was confused and thought that it was actually Ui streaming under a new identity. The little fluff-balls in Ui's design are also notably reminiscent of the texture of Watame's wool. The idea of a conspiracy where Ui and Watame are secretly the same person has become a minor running joke among both fan-bases.
• Ui drew the comic "Kankitsu Punch" on Manga Time Kirara Miracle in 2015. She also recently worked as the illustrator for the light novel "Osananajimi ga Zettai ni Makenai Love Comedy", while also being the original character designer of its anime adaptation by Doga Kobo.
• Ui beam is an inside joke which she usually plays along with chat. The joke started during a game of tetris99 with Kenmochi Toya where she spotted a player with a name "ファンサ うたって" (please sing Fansa), referring to a popular HoneyWorks song. On another stream she recalled seeing that player, and decided to sing Fansa where she playfully changed the lyric "愛のこもったmonaビームで" (Mona beam of love) to use her name instead, "Ui beam of love". Her chat and other streamers usually joke around asking for the "Ui beam", where she playfully responds. In another stream, she credited Watame as the original creator of Ui Beam, who coined the term during a collab stream with her.
• Ui’s YouTube account was created on the same day as Subaru’s debut date, because she just wanted to comment on Subaru first live but suddenly noticed that she actually need a YouTube account to do so.
