Kanato is a bright, bubbly, and energetic young man with a friendly disposition.Fitting his position in VOLTACTION and his lore as a mafia heir who is intended to succeed as the next boss, he is a natural and reliable leader, with his debut-mates remarking that he was the best fit for the role.He is also quite ambitious, with aspirations for VOLTACTION to entertain as many people as possible, including those overseas, and for the group to go on tour across America.
In stark contrast to this, he has a cheeky, brattier side leading to him being referred to as a kusogaki; he has a habit of rebutting with demo datte (でもだって, but, but -) to such an excessive degree that even his manager has had to call him out for it.He can also be quite clumsy and pon, often forgetting to start stream or to mute himself.However, as yet another facet of his personality, he will occasionally show startling signs of darkness - unsurprising given that he is still someone who was raised in a world of organized crime.

Appearance
Kanato has mid-length blond hair with an orange streak. His eyes are blue-purple. Likely in reference to his real-life fear of needles, his ears are unpierced. In his default appearance, he wears a long white jacket with dark gold buttons, yellow trim, and blue belts, underneath which he wears a black turtleneck top with white geometric patterns and a magenta harness. Over the turtleneck, he wears a gold necklace with a pendant in the shape of his pinwheel logo. He wears loose black pants with purple and magenta belts, tucked into purple socks and black boots with gold and magenta accents. He also carries a large pistol decorated with decals matching the rest of his outfit. Kanato's second outfit, like those of the other members of VOLTACTION, is the Erfolg College school uniform. However, as a member of the student council, he wears a variant of it: while it has the same black tailcoat and grey dress shirt, he wears grey slacks instead of the standard black, a red armband signifying his position as the president, and a custom necktie - in his case, one with gold and blue stripes. Kanato's further customizations to the uniform include a black and navy vest with gold patterning and a gold lapel pin in the shape of his pinwheel logo. He also wears a pair of round gold glasses. The outfit also came with a new hairstyle, which is shorter than his default hairstyle and has his bangs parted in the middle. Kanato's third outfit is a spring casual outfit. He wears a grey windbreaker with yellow accents over a lighter grey patterned dress shirt. These are paired with a pair of loose black slacks, yellow socks, and white sneakers with black accents. His accessories include a grey, yellow, and white tartan bucket hat, a silver earcuff with a wolf accent (representing his dog, Poochyena), a thin bolo tie, and a silver chain belt. Kanato's fourth outfit is a Japanese-style Hakama outfit that's fit for New Years. He has long hair that stretches up to his waist with one strand of his hair braided down. His haori is all covered in black with some golden flower patterns on his left arm. He also has some orange and blue sash around his haori. Underneath his haori reveals his hakama that's colored in white with a special golden necklace including a diamond shaped centerpiece. He also has black/golden gloves and a black/blue belt surrounded by his waist. He also wears a black face veil with orange marking that covers his entire face. Kanato's second 3D outfit, designed for his appearance in the Nighttime stage of NIJISANJI's 7th Anniversary LIVE "OVERTURE", is in the same "royal military"/"idol"-esque style of NIJISANJI's past anniversary live costumes. As a VTA student, Kanato had mid-length greenish-brown hair, slightly shorter than his current default style, and hazel eyes. On 18 June 2021, ANYCOLOR announced the launch of VIRTUAL TALENT ACADEMY (VTA), a vocational school and talent development project to help prospective Virtual YouTubers develop skills related to streaming and content creation.Applications for VTA's first generation auditions were accepted from 18 June to 5 July 2021.
On 1 November 2021, VTA opened official YouTube and Twitter accounts and revealed the names and appearances of its first generation students, including Fura Kanato.
On 5 November 2021, Kanato held his first stream on the VTA channel.His first Tweet was made on 8 November 2021.
While the students all took part in dance, vocal, acting, and other practical lessons together, they were divided into classes for lectures and classroom-based studying in smaller groups.Kanato was placed in class 1, alongside Ponto Nei, Amagase Muyu, and Watarai Hibari; the division was based on their streaming schedules, with class 1 streaming on Fridays and class 2 streaming on Thursdays.
On 11 July 2022, in a first for NIJISANJI, ANYCOLOR unveiled a "peel-off" advertising campaign for their upcoming four-member unit "VOLTACTION", which ran from 11 July to 17 July 2022.It featured an advertisement spanning the entire length of Dogenzaka Happy Board B at covered with various flyers associated with lore for each of the respective members; peeling enough of them off would reveal their key visuals.Details regarding the actual debuts were to be disclosed at a later date.
On 13 July 2022, ANYCOLOR announced that Kanato would be graduating from VTA to debut directly into NIJISANJI as part of VOLTACTION, confirmed to be the second wave of Livers formed from VTA graduates following Ranunculus' debut earlier in the year.In preparation for his debut, Kanato received a full redesign, and all YouTube videos previously created during his time in VTA were hidden.

VOLTACTION started their activities on 13 July 2022 and had first stream on 16 July 2022.Kanato was the first of the group to hold his first stream.Afterwards, all four members of VOLTACTION appeared on a special debut program on NIJISANJI channel, hosted by Hanabatake Chaika and Joe Rikiichi.
The short version of VOLTACTION's first original song, "INLAID" (インレイド), was released earlier on 13 July 2022.This song was written and produced by of STEREO DIVE FOUNDATION.
Mascot and fans
Kanato's fans and channel members are officially referred to as "Diner"; as he explains, he wants his viewers to experience the same carefree, relaxed atmosphere that they would experience if they dined in his restaurants.
His fanmarks are 🍝 (spaghetti), in reference to the Italian restaurants he manages, and 🍷 (wine glass).
VOLTACTION's group of official mascots are called "Wannyaction" (わんにゃくしょん, Barkmeowtaction). Kanato's representative mascot in Wannyaction is a named "Kiironoko" (きいろのこ, the yellow one), who is also referred to as "Inunu" (いぬぬ) by Kanato.
Originally appearing as charms released as part of VOLTACTION's line of 2nd anniversary goods, they were later given official full body designs, names, and introductions, as well as their own fanart hashtag, #わんにゃく展. Kiironoko's introduction:

They are debut-mates and fellow graduates from the first generation of VIRTUAL TALENT ACADEMY (VTA), and are the first debut wave from NIJISANJI to have received their own dedicated social media and YouTube channel on launch.
The unit's name is a portmanteau of the English words "voltage" and "bolt-action"; the four of them came up with the name together.
"Kamupotage" (かむぽたーじゅ) - Kanato, Amagase Muyu, Ponto Nei, and Watarai Hibari. They were classmates in VTA's first generation's class 1 before debuting with NIJISANJI.
Their name predates their NIJISANJI debut, and was made by combining the first syllable of each of their names or a nickname (Kanato, Muyu, Pon-chan, and Tarai) with "potage".
"Senzankōsō" (先斬後奏) - Kanato, Axia Krone, and Ha Yun. They were teammates in the 72nd Shibuya HAL Custom, which took place on 28 July 2022.
"ONEGAI HELP KAMI" or "OHK" - Kanato, Selen Tatsuki, and Bonnivier Pranaja. They were teammates in the KohaCUP, which took place on 26 November 2022.
"Nikuseikatsu" (にくせいかつ) - Kanato, Watarai Hibari, and Ha Yun. They were teammates in the 90th Shibuya HAL Custom, which took place on 22 December 2022.
"Brotubers" - Kanato, Selen Tatsuki, and Tempplex. They were teammates in the 98th Shibuya HAL Custom, which took place on 9 March 2023.
"PINK BRAIN" (ピンクブレイン) or "PBR" - Kanato, Makaino Ririmu, Hanabusa Lisa, and their coach, Yufuna. They were teammates in VSaikyo Season 5, which took place on 15 April 2023, and sans Ririmu were teammates in the 136th Shibuya HAL Custom, which took place on 25 January 2024.
"Onii-chan to Issho!" (おにいちゃんといっしょ！) or "ANI" - Kanato, Saegusa Akina, Ushimi Ichigo, Fuwa Minato, Yuhi Riri, and their coach, ade. They were teammates in NIJISANJI Extreme Match VALORANT Tournament which took place on 13 October to 14 October 2024.
"Ebibody" (エビバディ) or "EBI" - Kanato, Ex Albio, Lauren Iroas, and Murakumo Kagetsu. They were teammates in Niji Squid Festival 2024 which took place on 23-24 November 2024.
The members of VOLTACTION were originally a group of close friends - all coming from criminal or otherwise morally ambiguous backgrounds - who first met each other while attending the same boarding school, Erfolg College (エルフォルクカレッジ).
He originally wanted to go to boarding school in order to make friends that were around his own age, as he had never had any except for one he lost contact with when he was little. However, he was only allowed to leave home on the condition that he continued to do work for his mafia family while attending school.
During their school years, Kanato was an honors student and eventually became the president of Erfolg College's student council, with Shikinagi Akira serving as his vice-president.
Although Watarai Hibari believes that they first befriended each other at boarding school, it is heavily implied that he and Kanato's childhood friend are one and the same, with Hibari apparently having forgotten this. Their childhood friendship is also depicted in VOLTACTION's cover of 's "Kaiju no Hanauta" (怪獣の花唄).
After honing their respective skills in the criminal underworld, Kanato gathered them together due to a shared desire to use these skills to instead bring happiness to people. To do so, they meet at a hidden base called the Laundry (ランドリー), and carry out missions in secret. After learning about NIJISANJI, the members decided to start streaming in addition to their activities as VOLTACTION.
Aside from streaming, he is a businessman and representative for the Venti Group (Ventiグループ, or Venti Gruppo in Italian) conglomerate as his day job, and owns and manages various Western-style cafés and restaurants in this capacity.
While he states that he doesn't plan on succeeding his father as don since he would prefer to "do things that are [actually] fun" and has his concerns with respect to the dark side of the family business, he is still involved with his family's criminal empire to some degree. However, these activities are kept separate from the work he does with the Venti Group.
Despite his name clearly being Japanese, it is implied that he is part of an family, given his knowledge of its customs, him mentioning that his family has branches internationally, and his businesses all having Italian names.
He has described his father as looking like a typical mafia don appearance-wise, intimidating and heavily tattooed from head to toe.
His primary role in VOLTACTION is as the group's leader and strategist. Due to his numerous connections and contacts both in the underworld and in normal society, he also conducts intelligence gathering prior to their missions.
His magical eye acts as a target sight when active, and is a hereditary trait.
Like the other members of VOLTACTION, he no longer ages.

Prior to their debut, VOLTACTION once rented a cottage together. This cottage trip gave rise to what is now known as the Yōsei-san Jiken (妖精さん事件, Mr. Fairy Incident), which both the group and their viewers have since referred to as one of their most memorable moments and is oft referenced as a running gag.
At the cottage, their sleeping arrangements were Kanato and Hibari sharing one bedroom and Akira and Seraph Dazzlegarden sharing another bedroom, with a clear view into each others' rooms.
Akira walked around stark naked in his and Seraph's bedroom on his way to the shower room, apparently drawn there by Seraph playing the violin. Because the bedroom doors were wide open, he was in full view of all three of the others, causing an uproar. The name of the incident derives from Kanato's shocked exclamation of "yōsei-san da!" (妖精さんだ！, It's a fairy!) upon noticing Akira's state of dress. Rather than being embarrassed, however, out of spite Akira walked out naked in front of them once again after finishing his shower.
Kanato has a female persona named Kana (カナ), who is considered a separate person from him. She first appeared on April Fool's Day in 2023, briefly hijacking Kanato's Twitter account to interact with his viewers, and was voiced by Kanato using a voice changer . She made a subsequent appearance the following year via a video message.
Unlike Kanato she refers to herself in the third person and has notably -esque speech patterns. She has been described by Kanato as a good girl who is very energetic - in a positive way - and "comes and goes like a storm".
According to Kanato, she is not good with technology and so uses a rather than a, and only communicates via mail address - she does not use LINE, Discord, etc. In contrast to Kanato, by her own admission she is quite bad at video games.
How exactly Kana and Kanato are related (i.e., whether they're relatives, siblings, twins, etc.) is unknown.
She has her own separate fanmarks, 🍓 (strawberry) and 🍷 (wine glass).
He usually uses the first-person pronoun boku (僕), but occasionally slips up and uses the pronoun ore (俺), generally considered a more aggressive way to refer to oneself. He tends to act shocked or berate himself when this happens, as he associates the pronoun ore with the mafia upbringing he wants to distance himself from.
Kanato is known for his proficiency in English, to the point of having semi-regular collaborations with the EN branch. While he acknowledges that he has difficulty remembering words, he can understand it perfectly fine and has decent pronunciation.
He partly attributes this to his father, as the latter speaks English fairly fluently and often conducts business abroad, especially to the US (e.g., California, Nevada, the West Coast, Hawaii, Guam); young Kanato would often accompany him on these trips and had a lot of opportunities to listen to and thus absorb English as a result.
He has taken the (Test of English for International Communication) before and scored 750-760 points.
He is quite adept at marine sports, including swimming, wakeboarding, and surfing. He even has a boating license, though only a recreational one for small vessels.

Despite coming from a rather wealthy family, he has worked several part-time jobs purely out of curiosity. For example, he has held part-time jobs where he lived in with his employers; he worked these jobs 2-3 times, for around 6 month stints each time. He has also had experience working at a marine sports shop and working night shifts.

On 28 April, Taito Toys released a VOLTACTION Street Style series of original collaboration goods via kuji (i.e., received goods are randomized). The goods featured original artwork of the members in streetwear, and included a poster standboard, large cushions, face towels, badge sets, posters, and rubber charm straps.
On 29 May, makeup brands Love Liner and iCouleur announced a collaboration with the members of VOLTACTION, with tie-in goods available to purchase from 14 June to 30 June. They featured original artwork of the members in casual clothing, and included eyeshadow palettes and liquid eyeliner designed by each member as well as acrylic stands, with stickers and postcards as purchase bonuses. The campaign also included a pop-up event at @cosme's flagship Tokyo location in Harajuku from 18 June to 19 June.
On 15 August, convenience store chain announced a sales campaign in collaboration with VOLTACTION which ran from 22 August to 4 September, with customers reaching a certain purchase threshold eligible to receive goods featuring original artwork of the members.
On 25 October, perfume brand Anideal announced the fourth volume of its collaboration series with NIJISANJI, this time featuring the members of VOLTACTION. The collaboration featured original fragrances designed by the members, which were released on 28 November.
2024
On 8 April, the, Japan's top tier of association football, announced a renewal of their annual partnership with NIJISANJI for the 2024 season. Kanato was announced to be one of the Livers chosen for the 2024 campaign, endorsing . The collaboration included various goods featuring artwork of the Livers in team regalia, stadium advertisements, and the Livers participating in official commentary for matches.
On 26 July, Karaoke Manekineko announced a collaboration with VOLTACTION at all 300 of its locations, with a poolside theme. The collaboration included exclusive collaboration food and drink, various exclusive goods, and campaigns involving VOLTACTION's original songs and themed rooms. The collaboration ran from 1 August to 31 August.
On 28 October, NIJISANJI announced the line-up of NIJISANJI MUSIC FESTIVAL 2024 which will be held on 20 December to 22 December 2024. Kanato will be participating in all 3 days of the event; Day 1 as a solo performer, Day 2 as a duo with Yang Nari, and Day 3 as VOLTACTION.
2025
On 8 November, NIJISANJI announced VOLTACTION 1st LIVE "Dynamic VOLT" which will be held on 23 February 2025 as a part of NijiFes 2025. Moreover, Kanato will be participating in NIJISANJI 7th Anniversary LIVE「OVERTURE」Nighttime Stage alongside Elu, Ars Almal, Hoshikawa Sara, Kaida Haru, Leos Vincent, Lauren Iroas, and Sophia Valentine.
From 1 March to 6 April, NIJISANJI Spring Party, a collaboration between NIJISANJI and the amusement park ran, featuring exclusive events, ride decorations and voice messages, food menu items, and novelty items themed around the 7 participating units.

CAFE Zeffiro is a café owned and managed by Kanato and the Venti Group, and acts as a front for VOLTACTION's activities in conjunction with Akira's Room 4S. Hibari works part-time at the café, meaning that Kanato is technically his boss; as such, Hibari occasionally refers to Kanato as "Owner".
In order to protect clients' privacy, the primary way clients can contact Room 4S is by first ordering a small espresso with four sugar cubes at CAFE Zeffiro. As orders and requests are relayed through Kanato and Hibari, it can then be determined if the request warrants involving VOLTACTION as a whole.
When shown in 3D, CAFE Zeffiro is shown to have a yellow exterior facade with a large covered outdoor terrace, while its interior appears much like a classic modern café, with ivory walls, indoor seating, and a baked goods case at the front counter.

His surname Fura is written as 風楽, with 風 (fū) meaning wind and 楽 (ra) meaning fun.
In apparent reference to the character for "wind" in his name, his personal logo is a stylized pinwheel/windmill.
The names of his businesses almost all allude to wind in Italian (including "Venti Group" itself, as "venti" means "wind").
