Amanda Lee has been a prolific YouTube singer since 2010. She started her channel, LeeandLie, together with her partner Annalie in June 2010. Annalie left the channel in 2014 but the name stays.

She teased her Monarch VTuber model on 6 August 2021 and continued to build expectations up over the months. The Multiverse Monarch made her first tweet on her own account on 6 December 2021 and finally debuted on Twitch on 11 December 2021.

Where do I begin? I guess all stories start at the beginning, but I barely remember mine- barely remember my home realm. All I have are splinters of memories- bright and warm. But what I do remember is the great evil that overpowered us. The warriors and heroes meant to protect my world ended up being its demise. And then it was gone- as was my... faith in heroes and goodness. I found other worlds like mine, with foolish prideful heroes, blinded by righteousness... But when good rises so does evil. That's just the balance of things. But I couldn't leave these worlds to their own demise. These so-called heroes would fail. A stronger evil always remains... So I became that stronger evil. To snuff out the flame before the whole thing catches fire. What better way to protect these worlds? What better way to protect the balance? But I couldn't watch every realm on my own. I only have two eyes... Or so I did. To act as my eyes and ears, I produced clones of myself, bending the timelines to my will and adding versions of myself wherever I deemed necessary to befriend these reckless protagonists, and to learn of their strengths and weaknesses. Would they be strong enough? I doubt it... But i'm in no rush. For now I'll watch how things play out as fate designed, and if needed I... We will be there to reset the balance.
