On 26 August 2023, VirtuaReal announced their twentieth generation of Virtual Livers, including Ayumi, in an article accompanied by their designs and profiles. The article focuses on Kismet, the female part of the generation. She uploaded her first video on the same day.
Originally Ayumi was going to debut on 3 September 2023. However, due to Garu and Kurau's terminations, she ended up debuting 5 days later on 8 September.
